Time Takers is an era-mashup lightning-fast survival shooter with a beta test you can dive into next month
Eras collide and time is your lifeline.
Everyone's always boxing their games into a single time period. But who says you can't have Edo period samurai standing alongside futuristic androids? Better yet, why not a scenario where you can stick a medieval knight with a freakin' space monkey? Yeah, you heard me. A chimp wearing an astronaut helmet. Hell yeah.
Why decide between the past, the present, or the future when you can have all three in Time Takers—the thrilling, fast-paced upcoming survival shooter where eras collide across a time-fractured battlefield and every second is precious.
Matches are short and filled to the brim with tight, close-quarters combat where good teamwork and snap decisionmaking are the difference between victory and defeat. No long, fight-free stretches where you hunt around for loot in a big empty space. It's high-speed, high-intensity, always.
Being flexible is just as important, too. There are no fixed roles in Time Takers—instead, you'll need to adapt on the fly by upgrading your abilities to adapt to changing environments and help turn the tides in your favour.
If all of this sounds like a bit of you, I have great news. There's a Closed Beta Test coming up on March 13. You'll be able to play around with 12 different playable characters, each one bringing something unique to the table. With the CBT being structured around three-player teams, it'll be the perfect opportunity to experiment with each one and dive into optimal composition and ability synergies to make every character shine.
You'll be able to take these 12 characters across three different maps in the CBT: pre-modern Japanese battlefield Yokogawa plush with traditional architecture; medieval European Morstadt complete with gorgeous stone structures; and futuristic urban city map Miraesi inspired by Seoul. There'll be tons of opportunities to move, reposition, and find the smallest leverage to push your foes into the corner and use the environment to your own advantage.
Time Takers' Closed Beta Test is primarily focusing on those in North America and South America (United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Columbia, and Peru) and will run from March 13 to March 21, with one eight-hour playtest session occurring each day. If that's you, here's how to get yourself into this time-bending experience:
- Head over to the Time Takers Steam page
- Hit the "Sign up to playtest" button
- If you're in, you'll automatically be granted access as soon as the CBT begins
If you're outside of North and South America but desperate to jump in and see Time Takers for yourself, head over to the game's official Discord server. There'll be opportunities there to snag a key to jump into the CBT—things'll be optimised for the above regions though, so do keep that in mind. Plus, there'll be a chance to win a year of Discord Nitro so that you can do things like use emojis from the Time Takers server and beyond to bug your friends in their DMs. Maybe even bug them to play Time Takers. Hey, I'm not your boss. They're your emojis.
You can wishlist Time Takers now, and those in North and South America can sign up for the Closed Beta Test before it kicks off on March 13.
