Once upon a time, it was inconceivable that laptops could be used for any kind of meaningful gaming beyond point-and-click adventures and games whose polygon counts are about on par with LEGO. That's changed over the years, in large part thanks to the efforts of graphics honchos Nvidia who have been endowing laptops with powerful GPU chips for over two decades now.

But the latest generation of Nvidia's GPUs hit different to those earlier efforts. The RTX 40-series line of GPUs offer all the groundbreaking features of Nvidia's desktop-based counterparts— Ray Reconstruction, DLSS 3.5, and Nvidia Reflex—in less power-hungry and much more portable packages. This means you can play high-end games like Alan Wake 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Diablo 4 while on the move.

With the holidays closely approaching, there are some great deals available for these super powerful laptops. Here are some of the best that we found, which should prove capable of handling most games you throw at them. All the below come with Windows 11 and 16GB RAM.

And as a little Christmas treat, Nvidia is giving UK readers the chance to win a Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16" Gaming Laptop for a friend of yours. The competition ends January 7th, so get in there quick.
