Gamers know the struggle of storage management. As games get better and better, they may also happen to take up more space. When that happens, instead of upgrading to new internal storage it’s worth looking into high-capacity external storage: Such as the WD_BLACK™ D50 Game Dock NVMe™ SSD.

Of course, as the name suggests, the WD_BLACK D50 Game Dock NVMe SSD helps level up your playing far more than simply adding a bit (or a lot) of extra storage. In fact, it acts like a true dock, adding extra accessible connectivity to your setup, making it easy to connect and disconnect accessories and peripherals on the fly to give you a full gaming desktop experience.

The WD_BLACK D50 Game Dock NVMe SSD is available in two storage sizes: 1TB and 2TB.* That should be more than enough to store a solid selection of the latest high-density games. If your games are an average of 36GB, you’ll be able to store up to an impressive 50 games with the 2TB capacity. And, they’re super accessible to your system too. The drive offers speedy solid-state storage, with NVMe technology to make for read speeds of up to a massive 3000MB/s and write speeds of up to 2500MB/s.** Safe to say, long load times are in the past with this game dock.

When it comes to connectivity, you’ll get two Thunderbolt™ 3 ports, one DisplayPort™ 1.4 port, two USB-C™ ports, three USB-A ports, an audio port, and a gigabit ethernet port. Using those ports, you should be able to connect your laptop to, for example, a 5K monitor at a 60Hz refresh rate, which will help make for crisp and immersive gaming. You can even charge your laptop with it with up to 87W pass-through charging.

There are other advantages to the WD_BLACK D50 Game Dock NVMe SSD, too. For example, you can manage and optimize it with the WD_ BLACK Dashboard (Windows® only), allowing you to quickly and easily monitor the health of your drive and make sure that your system is running as efficiently as possible while gaming. And, with the built-in RGB lighting, you can easily match the dock with the rest of your RGB setup as it’s compatible with several of the most popular RGB systems on the market.

If, however, you’re looking for blazing fast speeds to upgrade your current gaming PC or building a brand new PC rig to tackle the latest big titles, Western Digital has a solution for that, too. Their recently launched WD_ BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD is a next-generation internal PCIe® Gen4 drive (not intended for NAS or server environments) that gets you blazing fast read speeds of an incredible 7000MB/s, and write speeds of 5300MB/s (1TB model).** With speeds like that, game load times are minimized, which means you can boot up, get into the game and start playing.

Like all WD_BLACK game drives, this one comes with their latest WD_BLACK Dashboard software which lets you monitor your drive’s health, and comes with a special Game Mode feature that optimizes your PC’s performance for you to give you the ultimate gaming experience.

The WD_BLACK SN850 NVMe SSD comes in capacities of 500GB, 1TB, or 2TB*, depending on how much additional storage you need. It’s even available in a sleek heatsink model to help keep your rig running cool, and sustain supreme performance. And, it wouldn’t be the ultimate gaming drive if it didn’t light up with some color. For those of us who take pride in personalizing our rigs, the heatsink model also comes with customizable RGB lighting, which is a nice new feature for Western Digital’s drives. While customization is only available for Windows, it’s also compatible with popular RGB ecosystems, making syncing – and personalization – a breeze. Whatever gaming storage needs you might have – lit up with color or not – it looks like WD_BLACK has you covered.

*1TB = 1 trillion bytes. Actual user capacity may be less depending on operating environment.

**1 MB/s = 1 million bytes per second. Based on internal testing; performance may vary depending upon host device, usage conditions, drive capacity, and other factors.
