Every game at E3 2016 and its PC outlook

Dual Universe

Coming to PC? Yes
When’s it out?
Closed alpha early 2017

Dual Universe’s ambition is crazy: it wants to intersect the player-authored storytelling, politics, and economic complexity of EVE Online with build-anything, voxel tech of something like Minecraft. And it wants all its players to inhabit the same version of the universe, on a single server shard. We’re still getting a bead what shape that will take, but an open, space-based MMO that carries forward the spirit of EVE is long overdue. The PC Gaming Show gave us the first look at in-game footage.

Overland

Coming to PC? Yes, now in alpha
When’s it out?
When it’s done

There’s something peaceful about the open road, even during an apocalyptic geo-monster invasion. Overland is a gorgeous, grid-based interpretation of that exact scenario, in which you make your way through small sections of Americana, searching for supplies and (sometimes canine) companions. Levels are procedurally generated, and if you die you start over, which means there’s always another chance to save every dog ever.

Turing Test

Coming to PC? Yes
When’s it out?
August 2016

Coming from Bulkhead Interactive, The Turing Test is a first-person puzzler that, as the official description states, “explores the phenomena of consciousness and challenges the meaning of human intuition.” How that’s expressed in the game, we’re not exactly sure. Based on the trailer, it seems you’re navigating a futuristic laboratory, completing puzzles using an ‘Energy Manipulation Tool’. Think Portal, but without portals.

Tyranny

Coming to PC? For sure
When’s it out?
Steam says "soon"

Pillars of Eternity was Obsidian’s return to isometric RPGs of olde, but it kept the story fairly routine as a unique, but conventional tale of good versus evil. Tyranny is another go at the RPG format, but considers what happens when the bad guys win in those tales. You play as a high-standing official in a tyrannical society, and having just conquered the known world, you set about trying to restore order.

Vampyr

Coming to PC? Yes
When’s it out?
2017

From the creators of Life is Strange comes another strange life, though not in the same way. Vampyr is much more violent than that game, with brutal-looking combat, and follows a very upset vampire. Check out the trailer shown at the PC Gaming Show below.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord

Coming to PC? Yes!
When’s it out?
2017

TaleWorlds’ feudal action-sandbox made a strong showing at our PC Gaming Show, where we got a first look at siege gameplay. Two new videos show 500 AI attackers and defenders engaged in a chaotic attack on a keep, with both sides exchanging catapult fire, hot oil, fire arrows, and sword swipes. We also got a first look at some of Bannerlord’s siege weapons, like ladders, towers, and ballistae. We’re excited to see one of our favorite sandbox RPGs mature technologically, and we think Bannerlord will benefit a lot from the added physics, destruction, and general bump in fidelity to its proprietary engine.

TaleWorlds’ goal is to put some form of the game into players’ hands this year, with a final release in 2017.
