Outside of the mania of Black Friday, Christmas time and January, it can feel a bit bereft of great offers and deals on PC gear. Particularly for those that are actively saving toward acquisitions to boost, enhance, change or refurbish their gaming setup. However, ASUS are bucking the trend. The PC gaming gear company are currently putting on some seriously good deals. Deals that are so good, it feels like the Christmas sales, but in July. How curious! But, naturally, a very welcome curiosity for PC hardware enthusiasts and gamers looking for a bargain. From monitors to keyboards, and from headsets to laptops and MiniPCs, there are plenty of deals now live with major UK retailers.

This month’s unique sales event—note that it ends on July the 31st—is present at lots of the major retailers and covers a wide range of ASUS gaming gear from laptops to headsets, from monitors to mice and keyboards. Almost all of them are available now, but some delectable deals are only available for the last week of July so make sure you’re aware of that when you’re on the hunt. But the offers go beyond a couple of discounted prices and there are some great extra goodies to be got as part of special bundle deals.

Throughout the Christmas in July event there are some great offers on some of ASUS’s premium peripherals. The ASUS ROG Claymore. This high-end mechanical gaming keyboard is quality in all aspects of the word. It is a solid and sleek aluminium slab that has a sleek - and unique - design. This originality is epitomised by the detachable numpad, allowing a level of customisation and preference that other keyboards cannot offer. The cherry switches give you precise, speedy and responsive keystrokes to ensure your actuation is fast and your commands are nearly instant - plus each is backlit individually that will pleasantly, and softly, brighten up your setup. It even has hot keys that can work directly with your inner hardware if your using an ASUS motherboard. Impressive. The great news is that the Claymore has been discounted by a massive 43%, tumbling its price down to £115 - that’s a saving of nearly half and well within the temptation range. The blue and brown switch versions are on sale at this great price right now, though patience is a virtue for those after the red switch variant as that goes on sale at the same great price from the 24th of July. This a premium plank and so to have the opportunity to snap this up with such a chunky discount is an opportunity not to be scoffed at all.

Another highlight are deals that go beyond price hacks. For example, you can get a free Xbox One controller with the ASUS TUF DT laptop models and a free M5 mouse and P3 mouse mat thrown in with the TUF DY laptops. These equate to a solid discount generally, but a quality peripheral is being thrown in too. This shows that ASUS have a more nuanced understanding of the offers and deals PC gamers like to choose from, as extra gear is equally useful as straight up discounts.

Elsewhere, and to just provide a flavour of the Christmas In July offers available, other highlights include 25 percent off the excellent ASUS ROG Delta RGB gaming headset, up to 13 percent off some great monitor models—like world beaters PG279Q and the XG32VQR—and some of the impressive mini PCs available from ASUS too.

It’s important to remember how cohesive an ASUS gaming setup can be; taking advantage of these offers is an opportunity to greatly improve the overall aesthetic of your setup. As we enjoy increased quality use of RGB lighting, moving away from any eyebrow-raising practices of days gone by, ASUS’s gear presents this in a pleasingly, cohesive ROG ecosystem, controlled by the Aura software. This is done so well that you can coordinate all your ASUS ROG gear to be seamlessly connected and linked through the use of the RGB—as well as the gear itself being some of the best in the business.

The Christmas in July sale is with UK retailers like Overclockers, Box and Scan, but,  wherever you go, if you see the ‘Christmas in July’ artwork or banners, you’re in good shape and should find a great deal that’ll enhance your setup this summer, and for a good while henceforth. Happy Christmas (in July)!
