Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Dragon Age Keep is delayed as well, closed beta extended as a result

If you'd missed the news that BioWare had delayed Dragon Age: Inquisition—like I had, frownyface—you may be disappointed by the middle of this sentence. Further disappointment lies in the news that Dragon Age Keep—that's the "companion web experience" that will allow you to feed in your choices from the previous games—has been delayed as well. There's no specific new release date given, but in the FAQ BioWare state that "The Keep will be live and open to everyone about a month before the launch of Dragon Age: Inquisition. So likely some time in October".

A tweet sent out today by BioWare Edmonton and Montreal General Manager Aaryn Flynn reveals the next Mass Effect and Dragon Age 3: Inquisition harnesses the newest version of the engine known for huge landscapes and mega destruction effects in Battlefield.

We know it'll be based on the Frostbite 2 engine, and thus has no excuse not to offer a rather bigger, more attractive world than Dragon Age 2's deserted city of chains. Everything else though, from story to design, is still under wraps. That's not going to stop us making a few wishes though, so here are some of the things we want to see...

BioWare flashes Dragon Age 3 concept art, praises Frostbite engine

BioWare waxed artistic at the Animation Festival held at the UK's Bradford University yesterday (via Eurogamer) as part of a discussion charting the progress of gaming art throughout the years. It's certainly come a long way from poking a couple of dots into a face-shaped blob, but BioWare Art and Animation Director Neil Thompson focused more on how both painting pixels better and the meaty Frostbite 2 engine led to the Dragon Age 3 concept art snapshot he flashed upon the screen for all of three seconds.
