Have your say: what do you want from Battlefield 3's single player campaign?

Battlefield 3 is finally out next week. We're excited. We can't wait to get into some jets and crash them new and exciting ways in Battlefield 3's largest multiplayer maps. But amidst the videos of frantic firefights beneath Paris and news that one map features a half-kilometre base jump, it's easy to forget that there's a single player campaign as well.

We've seen bits of it, in the early trailers, the Thunder Run video and recent footage of Operation Guillotine, but we don't yet have much of an impression of what it'll really be like, which raises an interesting question. What do you want to see in Battlefield 3's single player campaign? Tell us your thoughts in the comments.

A new post on the Battlefield blog via VG247, reveals that 12 million people have joined the Battlefield 3 beta, six times the numbers DICE had testing Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

DICE General Manager Karl Magnus Troedsson posted with the news, saying "the fact that Battlefield 3 is clearly our biggest game launch ever by a magnitude of 6 makes it doubly important to test everything."

He also mentions that the code being tested is a relatively early version, designed to stress test servers as well as highlight bugs that need fixing.

This is the Battlefield 3 multiplayer trailer that was just shown at the EA Gamescom press conference. It shows a war raging across the Caspian Border, a new 64 player map featuring armoured vehicles, tanks, jets, explosions and WAR. Oh my.

The footage is running on a PC. We don't just know that because of how it looks. Console versions of Battlefield 3's multiplayer maps won't be able to support 64 players. If you know anyone who's planning to pick up Battlefield 3 on a console box, kindly show them the two minutes above. It's all the proof you need that Battlefield 3 must be played on PC. Read on for some quick frame by frame impressions.
