i dont like this much change i just finished torchlight like literally JUST finished it and we are still working on rapture and skyrim and what about evolved that was also just rebuilt and whats up with the vip only mayors i dont think its fair to builders who want to prove themselves and make a nice city the only thing that could go wrong is a repeat of dwarfhold which im sure no one will allow and a server reset would be nice just i think some of the newer and other important citys should be copied over along with other important landmarks take this into consideration guys

Initial madness? There should be no madness at all, nothing that insane happened on the first server reset. It's just a game.

    Builder- Same
    * I would remove foreman from the list*
Architect - VIP : Ability to Start own cities with a warp to a central location. The right to make their own rules for the cities they found.
Moderator - Same Powers *keep worldedit*
    Admin - Same powers
    *Remove the title of owner/overlord*

There should be around a 1:2 ratio of Admins to Mods. This would mean promoting some mods to admins and promoting some trust-worthy VIPs to mod.

    Rule 1: Don't destroy other people's creations
Rule 2: Don't build on other people's land without permission
Rule 3: Leave Signs to designate your Land
    Rule 4: No stealing
Rule 5: No 1 block towers
    Rule 6: Keep it PG-13
Rule 7: Only VIPs/Architects can build a recognized city.
    *Remove Rule 8*
*Remove Rule 9 and group it into a City Guideline to be provided to VIPs/Architects*
Rule 10: Art (Statues, pixel art, etc.) must be in Art designated areas either in the wild or in cities
Rule 11: Small Projects will be deleted if not worked on for 3 weeks *this would be hard to enforce*
Rule 12: Large-scale projects will be deleted if not worked on for 2 months *also hard to enforce*
Rule 13: Projects must have Name of Project, Username, start date, and the last day you worked on it. If finished it must have a sign saying 'Finished on: DATE'. *a Finished on DATE should not be required*
*Remove Rule 14 and add to city guidelines to be provided to VIPs/Architects so they can come up with their own commodity for trade purposes*
Ok so since I was in the steam chat room that made these new ranks I just thought I should clear some of this up. The foreman may seem unnessecary, but its kind of to give an idea of upward mobility to builders that may not be architect worthy if they just are on the server long enough. A lot of builders, about 2 days after joining, are always saying "Can I be promoted"? Some of them deserve it, but even if they do VIP is a far, far goal that some just never make it to. Foreman is meant to kind of be a little progress marker that is easier to get than Architect/Vip. This was jtjdude's suggestion for a foreman rank. Also, the Owner rank is meant to distinguish mike from the other administrators. Its meant to show that even though they are admins they still have some restrictions that only mikeon has access to. PS: Foreman and Architect are just names, we're not becoming an RP server here. I suggested architect rank after Jexx said he never really liked the title VIP, and Foreman was just something jtjdude came up with for the new ranks.

i like the rank being named vip it makes more sense then "architect" and will some of our ranks get set back?

i just thought of a good idea for foreman. how bout the foreman is abuilder who has been on server long enogh for us to know they wont abandon it. this way we can distinguish newbies from evryone else and know who to trust more in general. this will also give newbies a goal to strive for.

Personally I think that the building of cities should not be so heavily controlled. The joy of minecraft is that you can build whatever you like, and be able to do what you will to it. I like being able to walk around and find all of the awesome stuff people have built. The server map is huge, does it really matter if new people build cities? Very few do so anyway.

I agree with Blackhole on this, we should not be so heavily controlling over cities. But rank should maybe come into play for build rights to come to a compromise on this.
