Exclamation EA Pulls Crysis 2 from Steam

Crysis 2 is no longer available from the Steam store.

I can only assume this is the first move from EA to promote their Origin service as a Steam competitor. What's next? Battlefield 3? The Old Republic?

    Mass Effect 3?

    Quite simple really for me.

I want all my games in one place, EA service is crap and Steam is the best.

If it doesn't sell on Steam, then I just wont buy the game.

I'm prepared to give Origin a chance - hopefully it will evolve in much the way Steam has and become a decent service/portal.

Goodie. EA trying to coax me into downloading another bloody client. I've already got 2 of the blighters. If I have to run the games via this client they can sod right off. I want my Steam overlay to talk to my friends with.

Simple solution I suppose, buy retail boxes of EA games and add as non-steam games. Can get them cheaper that was anyway usually.

Unless, like Steamworks games, they require the client even when using the retail copy.

They couldn't even put text and voice chat in Autolog.

If that is the case, then SWTOR can get fornicated.

I just managed to tolerate Steam's "you must run our program to launch your game" bullshit by gritting my teeth out of shape. I won't put up with another bloody download manager pulling the same trick.

That new Alice game is also not on Steam. It got released today.

So I personally think EA is pulling away from Steam.

So long, EA! Best of luck to you! No, sorry I won't be buying any of your games.
