Good luck everyone, I love the double elimination setup Rich, great choice. How do we determine the maps to play on?

Good question! How do we all think we should?

A choice for each player, and I'll select the first or last one at random?

You pick the first map and then loser's choice? There needs to be a map pool to stop anyone from choosing Steppes of War or something silly. Maybe use the same one as MLG or GSL?

Yeah, I think ladder maps only could work. Playing some of the weirder GSL maps (Bel'Shir Beach) might be trickier for nubbins.

Not that there are many among the group: most of you seem to be diamond.

I'd say current ladder maps minus the the retarded ones (i.e. Delta Quad, maybe Backwater Gulch).

And perhaps a GSL map if both parties agree. Though that kind of complicates things I suppose.

I'd say you should atleast pick a generalised fair map for the first one, like xel'naga caverns, metalopolis, or something that everyone knows, then after that loser choses from a pool of maps.

But I think you should have a list somewhere of the maps so there would be no confusing. I also think you should include some of the gsl maps as they are very good maps, alot better than some of the blizzard maps in the pool, such as crevasse, terminus re etc.

    MLG Metalopolis
    Shakuras Plateau
    MLG Shattered Temple
    Typhon Peaks
    Xel'Naga Caverns
    GSL Tal'Darim Altar
    GSL Crossfire SE
    GSL Terminus RE
    GSL Crevasse

Pretty simple map pool, a few non-ladder maps but generally well known by a lot of people. Veto the maps until we get to one map left then the loser picks the next map. That sound okay Rich? Of course if you want Dual Site or Crevasse/Testbug etc they can change; it's up to the community.

Good Map pool, but i'd say add Crevasse, its a good map. But for the picking i'd say for each of the rounds, rich should pick 1 map to start off the best of 3, then loser picks.

ie. round 1 start with metalopolis, round 2 start with xel'naga caverns etc.

It would probably be best with ladder maps since most people will be familiar with that but probably replace Metalopolis and Shattered Temple with the MLG ones to avoid the close spawns. Maybe the 10 maps that is in the Blizz map pool is a bit too much, not sure but 8 maps sounds better then 10 in my opinion!
