    Default Team Epic 16/03/2011

Foreword: Because of the rather prescriptive composition requirements for heroic modes, combined with our need to give everyone a shot at raiding, plus making sure loot isn't wasted, I have to plan our raiding on a whole week basis. Because today is the only day with 3 tanks and 3 ranged DPS signed up, we'll be heading to BoT. I post an entire weeks' raiding well ahead of time; please make sure you're signing up as early as possible, so that I can plan our activities better.

Part One 20:00-21:30 (Halfus hc, Valiona, Council)

    Tanks:
    Danatheron (only for Halfus)
    Klogaroth
    Urumqi

    Healers:
    Cenaria
    Darieth
    Denika

    DPS:
    Zerne
Contagion (not for Halfus, unless Dan can't make it)
    Vulture
Darksen (tank for Halfus in case Dan can't make it)
    Sisy

Part Two 21:30-23:00 (Cho'Gall, Omnom, Magmaw, Chimaeron hc)

    Tanks:
    Urumqi
    Klogaroth

    Healers:
    Cenaria
    Denika
    Darieth

    DPS:
    Zerne
    Foosfighting
    Slasgordon
    Thunderlash
Contagion (DPS tanking for Chimaeron; enjoy!)

Darieth, sorry to ne a pain, but to reiterate/clarify what I said on to you on Sunday, I *should* be able to make it for the first 45 mins or so today if I was needed ie if you were planning on doing halfus - hence the sign - but I won't be available after that due some complicated commitment juggling, and promises to uphold. I was under impression bwd was the plan for Wednesday and bot was Sunday (making it a non-issue) but I may have misunderstood in that regard.

EDIT: reread foreword, now understand reason for change of plan. Nevertheless, you'll want to keep uru on instead of me post Halfus for above reasons.

    Noted, roster amended.

If everyone signed up earlier, this would be a whole lot easier.

    Default Leader's Report 16/03/2011

    Epiccers: As above

Bosses Killed: Halfus hc, Argolath, Valiona & Theralion, Ascendent Council, Cho'Gall, Magmaw, Omnitron

Bosses Attempted: Chimaeron hc (52% best)

A very impressive Halfus hc kill; after one wipe on 5%, we then downed him with a full 28 seconds left on the enrage timer, due in no small part to Darksen setting the 24th highest DPS record for ret paladins IN THE WORLD (well, World of Logs). Well done to everyone, and gz to Klog and me on shiny loots.

The other bosses were our usual one-shot, including Cho'Gall who rarely causes any issues any more. This left us time for some BWD action, including trying a new tactic on Magmaw. After one wipe, we got the hang of it; everyone stacks up in Melee range except for Klog, who simply kites the maggots around the entire fight (in frost spec with Chillblains). Worked pretty well, I thought, and it's good prep for heroic mode.

We had about 40 minutes on Chimaeron hc, which saw steady progress, considering several people hadn't seen it before. I'm confident he'll die pretty swiftly on Sunday.

Sunday's plan is to warm up with Lolclave and Lol'Akir, then move on to Chimaeron hc and Atramedes hc. Assuming that takes all night, we'll be left with Maloriak hc and Nefarian normal on Monday.

I know we're used to netting a new kill every week, but all we have left are pretty solid encounters on 10-man mode, so please don't get downhearted if we struggle from now on. I know there are still loads of normal-mode loot upgrades for us, mainly because we've had such apalling luck with loot drops (we've NEVER seen a tanking helm or shoulders, or Incineratus, or the plate shoulders from Halfus, or the tanking gun. Never), and I'll make sure that we always kill every boss each week, even if we have to switch it back to normal after failing on heroic.

Please reply to my cauldrons thread so I can work out a plan.

Each boss actually has three loot tables; one for normal mode, one for heroic mode and one for Team Epic.

Massive upgrades that we have NEVER seen drop:

    Tanking shoulders
    Tanking helm
    Tanking neck
    Tanking gun
    Plate DPS shoulders
    Plate DPS helm
    DPS wand
    Caster dagger from Magmaw
    Healer cloak

Truckloads of other stuff, like tanking ring and tanking trinkets, that we've only ever seen once.

I swear we'd be server first if our loot luck wasn't setting us back a month.

Al'Akir is still being a git wizard and refusing to drop Stormwake, I bet he'll drop a spirit one when he does, you know, one that only a holy pally could use
