    Default Leader's Report

    Team: As above

    Bosses Attempted: Nefarian (7% best)

A good night of progress. We've now at the stage where we can force 3 crackles in Phase One, which is a good thing, though it does make the transition to phase 2 rather difficult to heal. We'll persevere with having Contagion tanking Onyxia in p1 whenever possible; it allows for the best Add control, which will help with p3.

Phase 2 isn't particularly difficult; balancing DPS so that all 3 adds die together might be tricky. The transition from P1 is the hardest part; once everyone's in position, interrupting and shooting, it's simply a matter of healing through very heavy, steady damage and using cooldowns to survive one Crackle.

Phase 3 is a simple burn, as far as most of the raid is concerned. The difficulty of phase 3 is based entirely on it's length, which is based entirely on how much damage you do to Neffy in the previous phases. I think our best chance is to continue forcing 3 crackles in p1, and just one in p2. That will leave us with a boss at 60% for the burn phase (therefore involving 5 crackles).

We're only another couple of hours away from doing this. A few more gear upgrades could make all the difference, and to this end we plan to clear all of BWD and TotFW on Wednesday. Sunday is BoT25, and on Monday we'll clear anything that's left in BoT and then go back to Nefarian. Please sign up early so I can plan accordingly.

Really good work; we'll all be Defenders of a Shattered World before you know it!

Another intesting point is that we were able to burn off 10% of his HP with Klog dead in p3. Would it be worth perhaps just blowing Army of the Dead at 10% anyway provided everyone is alive? Might take some pressure off the healers?

Humm i posted in this thread this am, but its not here... Anyway, all i said was that the 7% wipe was frustratining, as Nef shadowflame breathed the pink flames moved under me and i was dead by the time i even realised what was happening, I'll try and be a bit more predictive of how it will spread as there was plenty of room off to my left (east) but it will involve a bit of jiggery pokery with the positioning late on, and the tailswipe/cleave risks that go with that. Need to find a way to straif move the boss....

You're a huge hulking orc. Can't you just pick him up and shift him a few yards?

In terms of the various ways we've done the fight I'd say probably the best one was actually when we were kiting the adds, provided we can get them all dying close together. If it's viable we could try and make sure Darksen gets the first 3 adds and the last 2 are CC'd then as the adds die Darksen picks up the CC'd ones and drags them over to the pile of bones.

This should hopefully mean less in the way of healing in phase 1. With the damage going around in this fight any way to reduce the incoming raid damage seems worth looking at.

If we can work out a way of getting the adds in the right place without us taking so much damage it could prove to be what we need.
