Most advisers are all over the shot regarding trinkets due to their on use abilities
Shame, most of us mages are not JC for the Figurine - Jeweled Serpent and that it's BOP

It is an exceptional trinket because it's passive spellpower (via int) with a spellpower usage at a time when spellpower outweighs all other stats bar intellect.. If you are looking at same ilvl trinkets the only possible way to beat it would be an int trinket with an int proc/use.

Looks like rawr has finally got its act together regarding trinkets and agrees with us regarding Bell of Enraging Resonance. It is now considered as 2nd BIS slot after Darkmoon Card: Volcano, for non-JC mages.
Can't wait till Sunday so that I can finally lay my hands on that trinket at the DMF now I've managed to get the final card I needed
You never know. If Atramedes is really nice tomorrow and I get a really good dice, I could land up with the bell too. Will have to wait and see.

I will also be picking up a Volcano card on Sunday as I got my deck today!

Early maths is indicating the DMV will be BiS until heroic mode trinkets from T12 raids - the passive int on DMV works out to about 400 (based on the proc duration + cooldown) and the normal mode trinkets in T12 at the moment have 383 int on them, with the heroic ones packing a hefty 411 int.

If this stays the way it is until Live DMV is going to be a monster well into T12 content - thing is the int proc is just so powerful when you consider it stacking with stuff like Power Torrent, Troll racials, other trinkets etc.

One to watch out for in T12 is Mark of the Firelord. Not sure about the nomal mode version but the heroic version is a passive crit with a 1400 int use effect. This brings up the tasty proposition of a VERY powerful controllable burst period, where you wait for a Darkmoon Volcano proc, then pop Mark of the Firelord for (with the heroic version) 3k int. 3k int, possibly combined with a volcanic pot for 4.2k would be simply insane amounts of spellpower and crit.

I think the "teleport Orgrimmar" now bringing the city to us is the best one

Getting this thread back on topic...

I've been doing some reading and simcraft stuff regarding 4.1. Specifically, I've been looking at a Frostfire setup, stacking Mastery over crit or haste.

The reason for this is that, in 4.1, dots will no longer munch ignites - which is the primary reason for FfB sucking hard on live. People are considering the possibility of FfB perhaps overtaking Fireball with these changes, if you stack enough mastery.

At the moment, my Simcraft is saying that it won't. Stacking mastery over crit or haste produces a ~200 dps loss, even as Frostfire. And Frostfire is still lagging behind straight fire in 4.1 as things stand.

What I am not sure about is how well the Sim is actually modelling ignite munching, and whether this is taking the 4.1 changes into account. Might ask on EJ and see what I can come up with.

Keep in mind that the FFB dot will be spread via impact. Could be the way forward for aoe fights. Oh it also boosts your combustion if you get lucky enough to do it on the back of a pyroblast crit.

Also FFB sounds nice when it casts.
