As an ex-HS1A owner, I can confirm this.

The head set is nice and comfy, but it lacks in low frequency response. No full body sound to gun shots/ explosions, so playing shooters and watching action movies with them was strange, such a flat response compared to my old Sennheisers or Characias. And listening to music was pretty lack luster as well, will admit it does fairly well on the highs and alright on mids, just no lows what so ever.

I lost a fair bit of trust for Tom's last month when their surround sound headset round up gave the Corsair top prize - when [H] had reviewed that headset they had noted it used the same driver as the previous gen HS1 series

MaximumPC also gave a nod to the 1500, perhaps it has gotten better with just the same drivers?

What you meant by that? I bet you did not even check that guide and passing comments in open air. That guide is linked to 20 individual pages that each show top rated hardware for that particular product, for example: just for best gaming mouse, you can read several pages each showing best mouse collection in different sub-category such as wireless mouse, Logitech mice etc.

My suggestion is that you check that guide first and then comment with logic and proof!

By the way this is not a spam bot, i am addictive gamer who loves to read about good gaming hardware.

I actually did read it. It happen to look like a biased guide. For example, EVGA vs sapphire seems to leave out like most of the other manufacturers. As for about mouses, let's leave out other companies like Zowie,Mionix, and Steelseries. I'm not even going to talk about keyboards since they are just all so bad.

the thing that got me was recommended graphics cards for tekken 6, didn't even know it came out on PC, other than through an arcade box emulator.
