Scan are doing a slightly overclocked Gigabyte at a price (£163.87 at the time of posting plus possible free delivery) of a normal then just see what you can squeeze out of it as well.

One I linked is the 1GB version, at £130 I can only assume the Palit one is the 768MB version?

We've not been warned of anything major for the near future, but we should perhaps be on the lookout for a change back to the i5 setup at some point. It was written at the time that the Phenom decision could be reversed, and now that the 460 has claimed its spot in the rig the costs have been driven down. Just sayin'.

Updated to include a new ASUS Motherboard as the old one was not being stocked by most known retailers. It's listed at £65 but you can pick it up for £57.55 at Scan.co.uk

Well in last months PC Gamer Rig introduction, Adam Oxford did state along the lines that there were exciting new components on the way over the next few months, and to be prepared for every component to change.

We have seen a new case & graphics card over the past couple of months & now the motherboard has been upgraded to a newer AM3 model. that would suggest to me that Adam is happy with AMD for the time being. i would be suprised if he switched back to the more expensive Intel after upgrading such an importatnt component, and trying to keep the price as low as possible. maybe a new AMD chip otw ? i am going to guess that there maybe some new RAM next month.....

Not a good time to be needing a new system rather than wanting.

I assume with the new GPU and potential UEFI coming out it could involve them....

Well my philosophy is when it comes to that, if you always approach it with that mindset then you'll never get a new PC. Getting the Rig as it is now or with an i5 processor+motherboard will see you right for a few years, no hassle.
