Here is the offical wiki:
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Main_Page

The Eve forums are a bit highbrow even the newbie area is nearly incomprehensible.

Cool

Top Tip: Skills are trained in real time even when you are offline and there are skills to increase the speed of training so those are a priority at first. Below is the most efficient order of training these skills. This is from 2 years ago but I'm pretty sure they have not changed this mechanic, I do know they increased training speed up to 1.6 million skill points to kick start new joiners. They also have a skill queue up to 24 hours so you know don't have to be online to start a new skill.

Optimal Training Order

Instant Recall 1 / Analytical Mind 1 / Learning 1 / Instant Recall 2 / Analytical Mind 2 / Learning 2 / Instant Recall 3 / Analytical Mind 3 / Instant Recall 4 / Eidetic Memory 1 / Eidetic Memory 2 / Eidetic Memory 3 / Learning 3 / Analytical Mind 4 / Logic 1 / Logic 2 / Logic 3 / Eidetic Memory 4 / Learning 4 / Logic 4 / Instant Recall 5 / Analytical Mind 5 / Learning 5 / Spatial Awareness 1 / Spatial Awareness 2 / Spatial Awareness 3 / Spatial Awareness 4 / Clarity 1 / Clarity 2 / Clarity 3 / Clarity 4 / Spatial Awareness 5 / Iron Will 1 / Iron Will 2 / Iron Will 3 / Iron Will 4 / Focus 1 / Focus 2 / Focus 3 / Focus 4 / Iron Will 5 / Empathy 1 / Empathy 2 / Empathy 3 / Empathy 4 / Presence 1 / Presence 2 / Presence 3 / Presence 4 / Empathy 5

Don't attempt the whole lot straigh the way otherwise you won't be able to train other stuff. I think it would take about 2 months to do everything . I haven't bothered with the last 4 and 5s because I want bigger ships to pew pew.

Hey Bimble - if you want to set up an official PCG corp, go right ahead. We had some guys from the old forums who had something going, but we didn't really support it.

Cool. I've put an Eve Online channel on Teamspeak - once it's up and running yell, and I'll put something on our site, in the mag, on twitter/facebook/etc - and we'll create a new forum.

I'm pretty sure a PC Gamer corp exists or did exist at some point?

There was never an 'official' one. There's been various corps in the past with PCGF members. Join the "PCG Community" channel in game.

I'm totally new to Eve. I bought it for £1.49 on Steam the other day and I am desperate to get into it. A PCG Corp sounds like it would be interesting, I really need some people to play it with.

It's slightly different with Eve Uni. They're a bit more controlling -- i.e., you're forced to stay in station during a war, to be ready at all times. It's a bit boring, a real soul killer. I understand why they do it, and even think it's a good idea, but it kinda sucks

Also, EUNI tries to stay out of wars, whereas dreddit are nutters and try to start them
