Cool Money Making Tips: Feast of Winter Veil

I have decided to post some money making tips around the holiday events. In the past I have made many thousands of gold with just a little preparation before the start of the event, some are more profitable then others.

One week after the expansion arrives the "Feast of Winter Veil" starts. There is a great opportunity for Tailors and Leatherworkers to make a ton of gold. There are three patterns that are needed to complete the holiday achievements:

Tailoring
Green Winter Clothes
Red Winter Clothes (Alliance pattern but is obtainable by Horde)

Leatherworking
Winter Boots

If you already have these patterns make these a couple of weeks before. If you don't have the patterns then ask in the guild for some help, I can do the tailoring ones.

The day before Winter Veil add them to the AH for about 50g (or whatever you want to gouge the market for). There maybe some competition but because of the expansion it should be light. The Red Clothes go down well as they are an alliance pattern and you need to go to Ironforge to get it.

In the past I made about 50 of the clothes and all sold!

The second money making tip for Winter Veil is Pets! Wait until the end of the event and then buy the surplus pets on AH, the price would have bottomed out by then. Wait until mid summer 2011 sell them at outrageous prices. This year it was not so good as there was a lot of competition but last year I was selling 10g pets for 1000g.

Thanks for the tips Bimble.
I think I have the tailoring recipe on Zalid, and the LW on an alt. So need to start making some kit

I'd also suggest stocking up on 'Small Eggs', they always sell like crazy during winter veil.

As it stands a LOT of spec's best profession is leatherworking due to having primary stat bracers enchants vs the normal ones which only grant secondary stats.

If this remains the case stocking up on leather of all types might prove fruitful if horde raid hardcore enough to min-max with professions.
