At 10g a pop, that's not cheap. Do yourself a favour and ask a guildy to enchant the item directly or a scribe for a stack of 20, the mats aren't expensive. I keep a good stock of them if you're desperate.

10g? Says 9s 50c. I had just read that and my heart sunk. I already have 400 made ready to gouge the market come the 7th.

Oh well, I hope my other plans work out although I'm not confident.

I'd stick some on anyway, as its an unannounced change, you may trap some un-suspecting victims!

I sold a bunch of the glyph change powder on AH for a lot more than the vendor price on AH, if you should learn anything from all the portal and old world flight talk over the last couple of days it's that people don't learn what has and hasn't changed (bit like you can still sell the 50s pets in org on the AH for about 10g)

Aaaargh. I fail at clicking links and reading, clearly. I'd read elsewhere that they were 10g and got 5 from 2+2 Just checked: they're actually 8s if exalted with the faction where the vendor is based.

It's a good move I think. I always found it frustrating to have to buy vellums to enchant my own Chars gear when others can just trade me the item. This way, it's a none issue. It was strange to have to rely on the produce of another non-gathering profession in order to be able to benefit from my own. But then I'm sure someone will think of another example that screws my logic

as for other classes that have required on another production prof you got transmute arcanite, transmute true gold and the transmutes for the new top end gems.

they do often link profs together it is good in the way it makes people work together but it can be bad once the gouging starts on the cross prof trades.

Not exactly required items though are they? My point was that an enchanter could not enchant an item for their other chars (which is required very often) without a vellum - which could only be made by Scribes. Small point and not exactly bankrupting, but it did hack me off spending 10g or so on vellum from gouging

Transmutes are and always have been on the lesser scale for required items. They serve to provide an additional benefit.

You dont require alchemy to level jewelcrafting (via transmuted gems). there are professions that compliment each other such as alc/herb, j/c/bs/min, tai/enc etc. I believe that this is Chewwie's point.

I agree Chewwie, its a good move.
