    Default Another GPU Thread

Hey guys! Just finished building my first rig, and need a little help with choosing a new graphics card. The current card in my rig is the GTX650 2GB "Performance Edition." I had pulled it out of my last computer. I do want a card that will run most games maxed out no problem, but I don't want to be dropping $600 on it.

My question is, what card will perform the best around the $400 price mark? I've been pricing some 4GB 660's, and some 2GB 670's, but my knowledge on this stuff is very limited. I have not looked at AMD much, but I am open minded on the subject.

I'd appreciate any and all help!

If your gaming at 1080p then a GTX 770 is the best answer.
More then enough power to run all games @ ~$340...

Do you know if that will be able to handle Star Citizen and The Witcher 3? And also, should I spend a little more on a 4GB version or is that unnecessary?

Yeah, the GTX 770 (Heavily overclocked GTX 680 rebadge) would be a very good choice for 1080p. As to Vram amount, 2GB is fine, but if your playing a heavily modded Skyrim for example, it can help . My GTX 670 2GB was running out of Vram with the 78 mods i have ATM, and as a result iv'e had too decrease my game settings a little to compensate.

The AMD equivalent would be the R9 280X (AMD 7970 rebadge), but for some reason in the USA at least, they are priced much higher than a GTX 770 2GB & almost equally or still more than a GTX 770 4GB. Which is odd considering they perform similarly, with the usual game to game favoring of one or the other. And it's Ironic that the 280X released cheaper than the GTX 770 as well, lol.
