That's still a pretty decent rig. You could get another year out of that one most likely.
You can easily build a 5 year proof rig, it'll just cost more. The more you spend, generally the longer it'll be before you need an upgrade. You get a i5-4670K and GTX780 Ti, that would last you many years (assuming you're gaming at 1920x1080) but it'll cost you.
I guess the answer is if you're tight on money, keep your current rig or maybe drop a $250-300 video card in and you'll be fine for another couple years.
If you've got the money and can cough up around $1200, you can easily build a rig that'll last 4-5 years easy.
