    Default GTX 680 Fps problems

    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3301 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 16,0 GB
    EVGA OC GTX 680
    PSU: Antec 550W

Hi, i've heard that it's possible that my processor is holding back my gpu's potential or it might be some other issue. A friend of mine has a much slower graphics card and somehow he has better FPS than me at maxed settings. He uses a gtx 570. Is there anyway i can fix this?.

If you need more information about my system i'll gladly send it, thanks.

So are you sure its not your GPU thats the problem? It could just be a faulty GPU or the PSU is dying because 550w is enough and the 2500k won't bottleneck it at all.

At the same resolution? With the same drivers? With the exact same settings? Sure that's a GTX 570?

I believe there may be a variable that's causing this mis-information between the two.

Assuming the PSU isn't a basiq series it should be fine power wise & the processor is fine.

As M3rv says, a direct comparison depends on a few things to be equal.

Re-seat the card in the system & ensure it's running within acceptable operating temps, latest drivers etc.. It could be a dud card.

My GPU is at maximum 70celcius lowest 25-30. And yes, it's a gtx 570.. I think i'll change my PSU to a 650-750W That should fix it shouldn't it?

I still feel as there is some misinformation about something here.
