The US bacon that you linked is streaky bacon. The UK one you linked is... what's the name? I'll just call it regular bacon. You can buy streaky bacon here in the UK too if you want to. It's just as nice though it tends to be absolutely covered in those white fatty strips/streaks and streaky bacon is always the cheap kind, like supermarket home brand stuff. I don't think I've ever actually seen expensive bacon of the streaky kind.

Still, if you're poor as hell one week and you absolutely must have bacon, streaky bacon is fine I tellya. Don't waste your time taking off the fat though because you'll end up with no actual bacon left by the time you're finished. It'll only shave about 10 minutes off of your life anyway and really... what can anybody do in 10 minutes?

Yeah you can buy streaked bacon in the UK too, but it tends to have a higher proportion of fat, though it generally cooks crispier and tastes smokier, whether or not you like that is preference.

The type your more used to is back bacon, which is standard fare over here and is much more lean and tender when cooked.

There's a fella who rides around here on a bicycle every day. He's the type who's 30 but has been on the heroin so hard and for so long that he looks 60, his face all caved in on itself and whatnot. Usually he has a bag full of Head&Shoulders shampoo, goes door to door selling it but sometimes at night he can be found stealing your garden furniture.

Anyway, stealing bacon is obviously quite popular because lately he's been door-to-door'ing Dalepak bacon. He's the bacon king.

Have you ever seen a man carry an entire refridgerator on a bicycle? Like, laid out flat on the handlebars and seat? It's quite a sight but I've seen him do it. You have to hand it to him, when that man needs some H he really goes the extra mile.

Aye, tescos have started to put security tags on bacon/cheese/butter as well as all the more expensive meats, cause junkies come in and pocket it all, then go round the pub and sell it all on a mark up, people will buy anything when hammered likes

Wow, I'd love a local door-to-door bacon salesman!

I worked for a short time at the Co-op, and meat was the main target for thieves.
