Mini Challenge race could prove to be closer.

In other notes, 1:01.199 in the mini; still learning the track tho...

hmm, 50/50... my car will spin out in 1/2 and even 3rd if the revs are around the correct range (above 5-6000 in a corner and i put my foot down) ? its more so power output more so than speed... 40mph in 2nd i touch the accelerator in a tight corner and im facing the wrong way pretty much. espec if wheels are on the white line and its been raining.

yeh the games not quite simulator standard but most RWD with high HP will kick you up the arse and put you in a wall despite speed you go

And it answered saying "Lol, i'm nowhere's inside this car."

After doing about 8 laps in the mini I can honestly say that it's a absolute slush box. The engine just sounds awkward so there's no audio indication before it hits the rev limiter, so half the time your focused on the tach as you can barely hear the difference in the upper RPM range until it's to late and you bounce off the rev limiter. And the platform is so tiny that the weight distribution is off, so when you're not under-steering, you're over-steering.

I miss my Honda

Gotta have constant lack of traction and forward movement to do a donut, which i wish this game would let me do (even neutral drops in the BMW barely get it to spin). Instead i have to settle for reverse shitters in the gravel embankment with the honda.

Agreed.

As well, some progress with the Keyboard Warrior.

> 1:56.221 on the old track with the Honda

> 0:57.290 In the Mini on the Indy.

All done with just a keyboard.

As well I highly recommend there being solid, photographic evidence of our times before they get tossed up.

You wanna make that mandatory? For SP racing maybe? Sometimes people race on my server with me and the times are there to see...

Nice times on KB tho...that's a pretty good Mini time to be fair..M3RV, have you tried using mouse steer with in car view? I found this pretty accurate and easy...but you have to use cockpit view so you can see the wheel..otherwise you got no chance.

Mandatory, pics or it didn't happen.

As well, screen shots should be hosted on steam for extra legitimacy.

Screen shot it and link it off to the side on the official times post?

I just want proof that you guys are actually obtaining these magical track times and just throwing out random numbers.

Steering isn't an issue as much as throttle and braking are, as it's either full throttle or no throttle and full on locked up brakes (which would account for alot of over-steer in some corners) or no brakes.

I got a Xbox 360 controller coming in pretty soon, maybe i'll use that and see if i can get better times in.

I'm kind of curious as to see how other people would preform with my set-up:
- W = throttle
- S = brake
- A = Steer left
- D = Steer right
- Up Arrow = Change gear up
- Down arrow = Change gear down.

Enjoy.

And that has an engine that has a complete lack of torque and redlines so easily that it would have been better off being a diesel.

This is a great course, I downloaded it and had a race with the 07 Seat. To try it in the Caterham320 you'd either have to be insane, or The Stig.
