Seeing that this is the first movie to debut at 48fps, this is the only movie this year that I have cared about. Movies has been running at 24fps for far too long; I hope that this kick starts a new trend.

Remains to be seen if it looks any better though! It'll only be 48fps for 3D showings too, but I am hoping that this combination will actually improve the viewing experience/film itself, as generally 3D only hinders it.

Where did you hear that? That is incredibly weak.

Hmm I could be wrong about that actually, I'm sure I saw it somewhere a few weeks ago but I can't seem to find any references now. So don't panic just yet. The only thing I can find is that the higher frame rate will only have a limited release, so check your cinema is showing the right version before you go!

That is surprisingly accurate to what happens in the book.

I was a big fan of the LOTR movies, but I'm not sure about The Hobbit.

Watched the movie. Not as awesome as the trilogy, as expected, but it's a fun movie nonetheless. Still worth your money.

The only problem is that there's no Star Trek into Darkness trailer on my version (Didn't watch the 9-minutes preview, cause I can't stand 3D unless someone spend me to watch it). Still, does any of your normal 2D cimemas have the Star Trek trailer during your viewing on The Hobbit?
