If i get this game, i would gladly be of service. Since i didn't play the first one and have no idea what role i would fill, i'll be ok in pretty much most roles. Support, assualt, infiltration, specialist tank hunter etc.

Use your beta time to explore all you can.... then you can focus correctly at launch, on the tree path you want to improve. Will save a lot of um'ing and ar'ing.

Hope you enjoy your time in the beta with PCG!

The argument about regimented fire discipline and such really is dependent on their experience of other games.

I agree it may be difficult for those used to CoD killsprees to think of the wider picture (though you never know with the new update), I feel that others, such as those I played the M+M musket mod with are used to taking orders and thinking of how their death could affect the whole squad.

As the person who suggested the Cynical Fleet on TB's PS2 vid, I'd love to be involved here. There's actually a command structure. Also, I think that the outfit would be best served in a counter attacking role.

ie. Small recon groups identifying areas we can backdoor into, and sending in dropships suitably loaded up to take advantage.

    My two cents: CamesThepoohbear/UtterNutter

Really depends on how the group mechanic will work. Having lots of small team's will help open door's (maybe), but not really be effective against a well defended area. Having a large group format, based on army ranks for example, tends to have less talking and move co-orderdinated approach to situations. Rank is based on the ability to learn and lead, rather than rank for sake of rank which works in other mmo type games.

Whilst I personally like small groups that can run off and do their own thing without worrying about the larger picture, great for those down times of few people, I've been in enough HUGE/cap locked battles, with large team structure, that small groups are really for greenie, solo players who will die a lot.

It's your choice, how you play, but personally..... I'll enjoy my time either way.

I'm in guys, I recently fired up PS1 (yes I was old enough to play it back in the day) and had a fly around in my old galaxy. I love the piloting role so galaxy would be my first choice. Its that or if you have a small recon element then I'd think having a few guys flying Close Air Support would be cool also.

Oh and someone said in an earlier post about there being a "drop" button for galaxy, I'm sure I've read somewhere that has been implemented

Nothing like PS1's "Kick" button from a Galaxy, over Cyssor's volcano to bring curses a plenty to your screen.

oohh.... am a VS person as well.

Still, i know that everyone wants to be a pilot (cause air vehicles are bloody awesome) but i know that i am going to focus a LOT of my time into being a Galaxy pilot (it's going to be dessert camoed and will be called Dusty 1.0)

However, what you have to remember is that Vehicles are going to be expensive. will cost quite a lot every time one blows up, so i for one am making a secondary role for myself:

    Default Choices...

Don't know whether to go with this or the TR group my friend is starting. But definately TR. No doubt about that.

I probably will try a support role. I preffer to help the team instead of going in with all guns blazing.

So excited that I based my GCSE English assessment about PlanetSide 2 where TR kick some a$$!
