Wow, lack of graph legend FTL. Those numbers could refer to anything. Does the 7970 or the 680 have a higher performance per watt?

I fail to believe the benches - if you note, the BF3 bench from the first link shows the 680 getting 1.4x the performance of a 7970 at 4x MSAA (up from 1.2x with no AA) whilst the bench M3RV mirrors shows a 680 only a frame and half ahead of the 7970 @1080p 8xAA

    they can't both be right

I'll wait for them to be out in peoples hands before I judge the numbers, but looks like the 600 line could be a nice upgrade from the 500's, altho I'm probably still going to skip this gen as I'm happy with my 470 still even before OCing it. but it's nice to see they are working on the power draw.

Is this the lowest the GTX 580s have been on sale at newegg?

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007709%2060009400 2%20600085533&IsNodeId=1&name=GeForce%20GTX%20580% 20%28Fermi%29

Check out the GTX 570 and 560Ti 448s too. They've also gotten a discount. I hadn't seen any type of discount on newegg for nVidia cards in these past few months. I think they're trying to get rid of the stock they have before they receive some GTX 600s! March 22nd was the rumor I read a few days ago.

Good pricing by nvidia. Now its a better buy than a 7950.

Its still more expensive than my OB cards. :O

Yeah, those 580's seem to have dropped $50 in price, they were almost identical to the $450 AMD 7950's the other day/week.

btw, no fair! Newegg have the 7850/7870 starting to roll in.
