I loved Lord of the Rings Online, but the frankly nutty amount of patching required for a fresh install (and for someone on a download limit) kinda makes it unlikely Ill ever play it again.

    Whats d at d?

It's great that this is finally going free like DDO. Lotro's a great game and all, but it's not quite subscription great.

It will be later this year, at the moment they are beta testing the client for it.

To avoid future confusion, Shift+7 is the ampersand symbol (&) which replaces the word 'and'. '@' is almost universally read as 'at' and generally only used in e-mail addresses.

Sorry, English minor in college. I can't help myself.

LotRO is still one of the best MMOs around just because it oozes lore and culture. You can play it like WoW and then.. it's just like wow but with better gfx. If you play it like an MMO+ a chance to look around one interpretation of the books then it's more than the cost of admission.

Keep in mind that LotRO and D&D online are both 'free' in that the very extended demo is free and content after that can be bought bit by bit if you are on a VERY tight budget and 10/mo is not worth it to you but paying 10$ to unlock a few misison packs that you can play for as long as you want is. After playing the D&D free and pay versions and the LotRO free beta and the subscription I don't think anyone but a kid looking to waste a few days for absolutely no money will be happy only playing the free game on either. It is however a great demo for the game, which MMOs need.
