Default PC Gamer Rig Components - Updated Monthly!

This is an online list of the components for the PC Gamer (UK) Rig. Every month, following the launch of a new issue of the magazine, the list will be updated with any new components added in. All prices and product names/descriptions are taken from the magazine.

Motherboard
MSI H55M-ED55 - £92
An awesome Z68 board, with mSATA connectors for mini SSDs and Intel's caching technology.
Fitted: November 11

Processor
Intel Core i5 2500K - £156
An unlocked Sandy Bridge quad core, with everything but hyperthreading included.
Fitted: November 11

Memory
Crucial Ballistic Sport - £50
Eight gigabytes of fast 1600MHz DDR3 for £50. Grab it quick, just in case it's a misprint.
Fitted: November 11

3D Card
XFX Radeon 6870 Black - £135
You can get faster cards, but this has plenty of poke to power a single 1920x1080 display.
Fitted: November 11

DVD Drive
LG GH22NP21 - £18
Fast DVD writers are pretty generic these days, and it's not really worth spending the extra for Blu-ray.
Fitted: November 11

Hard Drive
Samsung Spinpoint F4 - £57
A massive two terabyte drive at a remarkable price, and high density platters for top performance too.
Fitted: November 11

Case
BitFenix Shinobi - £50
Easy access to all components and not too noisy. Looks better than other budget cases, too.
Fitted: November 11

Power Supply
Cooler Master 80+ - £70
A decent 650W PSU that's rated well for efficiency. The minimum you should try to get away with.
Fitted: November 11

Monitor
LG IPS236V - £155
Astonishingly low price for an IPS screenm and the LED backlight means it hardly takes up any space.
Fitted: November 11

Mouse
Logitech G400 - £40
Classic Logitech style in a brand new design, this 3600dpi mouse is comfortable and precise.
Fitted: November 11

Keyboard
Cherry CyMotion Expert - £20
The CyMotion looks a little meh, but has a beautiful gaming action.
Fitted: November 11

Headset
Corsair HS1A - £40
Good quality sound at a reasonable price. Easily one of the best sub-£50 headsets.
Fitted: November 11

Total price: £883

Price change since last month: +£56
