I quietly accept that there is nothing but the wheel and chant my mantra.

    I am a hamster
    This is my wheel
There are others like it but this one is mine.
My wheel is my best friend.
    It is my life.
I must master it as I must master my life.
Without me, my wheel is useless.
Without my wheel, I am useless.
I must roll my wheel true.
I must run straighter than my enemy, who is trying to outrun me.
I must outrun him before he outruns me.
I will. Before God I swear this creed: my wheel and myself are defenders of my cage, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of my life.
So be it, until there is no enemy, but peace.
    Amen.

I like grinding as it's all part of the game. It's all worth it when you get what you want.

For me it just depends what I'm grinding - some things that I want I end up thinking are worth the grind.

A good example is when I did Loremaster on my shammy, I was so bored many times but I either kept going because it was something I wanted to work on and I thought the achievement (not just the proper ingame achievement, but my own sense of it) was worth the work, or at times I just took a short break to watch TV or play TF2 or something.

Another example is less apparent in WotLK but something I did quite a bit in tBC, where I'd farm/grind mats/rep/similar stuff for things like mounts or gear, but again I did it because the end result was always something I saw to be worth the work.

Put simply, I tend to see the game less as a boring grind and instead as something that you need to put the work into in order to get the best from it.

That isn't to say that I don't sometimes get bored, but like I said, when those times come I just log off and play something else or watch TV or something.

A quick analysis of the data with only 16 votes. haha

93% of people do see through the magician's illusion and feel the grind at some point. (100% - option 1)

The variety of activities that exist do help 50% of the players continue to enjoy the game and take the edge off of the dread of grinding. (option 3)

44% of player never stopped playing WoW even just to take a short break. (100% - option 4)

I have accounts for tons of different MMORPG's. If I ever get to the point where I am grinding instead of enjoying playing, I cancel the acct and move to another game for a while. At the moment, I am playing AO and Eve.

I have a very high boredom threshold. It doesn't bother me.
