I am hearing of a new badge called conquer badges which will replace jp for the best gear. IS there a point to save up my jp for cata if the jp aren't going to yield me anything useful? I'd hate to miss out of getting one of the tiered sets because I chose to save the jp only to have jp rendered useless.

    Ty for any advice.

Yes, there will be Valor Points (Conquest Points are the PvP ones) in Cata. They will be the top end badges/points and only come from 10/25 man raids and doing the daily heroic dungeon.
Justice Points are like Triumph Badges were and will be very worthwhile to get for getting equipped early in Cata.

they have always said there will be version above justice points, the only thing justice points will get you is the level 85 blues needed to do heroic instances.

tier 11 gear with be from new points obtained through raids as they want the top tier to be raid orientated. the only time JP will work for T11 armour is when T12 armour comes out.

it's not a change blizzard has said this is how it would work all the time, just instead of having 5 different badges like wrath did you always just have 2, the top tier points and then a set of points that cover everything else.

JP will buy you blue gear.
VP will buy you epics though you only get VP from raids and the daily heroic

There are questing greens that will overtake all the tier 10 when cata hits and the 1st couple of new areas will be completeable with no huge difficulty with gear that a fresh 80 would have equiped so tier 10 is only really useful for a bit of a buff and of course RP purposes (or for any hunters that wouldn't be seen dead in their tier 11 gear)

the first cata zone is something like 272 greens so with just plain 251 T10 you probably would replace it quite quick (first level or so) the only epics that will really help in cata are the 264+ T10/other epics as they should last you a bit longer, but this is why I stopped grinding T10 on my DK, I knew I wouldn't get to raid with it before cata so getting t10 was pointless as I would have no real use for it as it would all be gone fairly quick.

it's basically the same as the people who try to enchant all items as they level, you will out grow it fast so there isn't much point to it.

Its worth while capping it as im pretty sure that will get you 2 bits of blue gear at 85 which will give you an extra boost to gearing for heroics.
