Angry audio problem

recently i have been using a tritton headset plugged into the digital audio out and by usb on my asus m5a99fc pro r2.0 mobo. i also have dell speakers plugged in. i was playing games one day and left it set to my headset and left for work. my fiance wanted to play her games and didnt understand the realtek high def audio manager. she made some changes and now my headset doesnt work with optical out. with the USB they make the volume adjustment noise and the log in and out noise they do not play any game sounds or internet sounds. the speakers also do not work and both the speakers and headset work fine on other devices. i have tried every thing. checked all the mute settings, changed the default audio to speaker, and changed the realtek high def audio to speakers, uninstall and re install the realtek drivers, and still nothing any help?

    hello, Gathering info...

    Mobo : ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX + SB950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS ?

    Operating system ?

go into the audio control panel and make sure that you have selected the right output for your listening device.

Make sure the levels in the panel are turned up.

If that is not the problem, you may want to follow the sets below :

What I do when sound gets messed up do :

get myself ccleaner : https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner This is cool tool that looks for registry inconsistencies.

    install ccleaner

Go to the ASUS website, find my motherboard and download the right drive software.

BEFORE installing anything, go to the add/remove programs and uninstall the realtek drivers.

    Do not reboot !

run the ccleaner registry cleaner, if it finds anything click "fix selected" it will pop upa box to save the registry, i usually say no, ccleaner will deleted them from the registry.

    run ccleaner registry again.
    If finds something , repeat
run the cleaner when it find 0 issues.

    REBOOT.

i will get pop ups "found new device blah" that is fine.

    Install your realtek drivers...... done

    reboot

run ccleaner on last time to check for any new registry errors.
