I bought a full run BPC collection for the Orca off the market yesterday and it is now in its own little container in the Corp Hangers at Stac VII (Impro Factory).

Will come down today sometime and start some production runs

Not sure how Nim can help?
I am still a couple of weeks away from capital ship construction.
Nim and Sam are training both for flying the Mackinaw for mining and ice harvesting right now. Nim is nearly there and can already fly a hulk and Orca.

Let us know what help is required, pls. I wanna contribute, too.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Deadard -good stuff.

So quick recap (so we don't wind up with loads of capital cargo bays and nothing else):

Soth has built a load of stuff (well done mate). Not entirely clear, but from post #10 it would appear to be:
    37 (All) Capital Cargo Bays
    7 (All) Capital Computer Systems
    15 (All) Capital Construction Parts
4 (All) Capital Corporate Hangar Bay

    Soth - please confirm?

It also would appear from a trawling the thread that we have no more parts in construction - anyone else who is building parts please post here ASAP.

It would therefore appear that we still need:
    9 Capital Capacitor Batteries
    4 Capital Ship Sensor Cluster
    7 Capital Ship Maintenance bays

Perhaps more importantly, where are all the finished components? can those who've been manufacturing please load them into a sensible place in the Impro factory (at Stac 7) so we can muster.

Sam - I put a couple of station containers in there but waiting for Sam/Warpo to either change names or sort some permissions (see in game mail).

    Thanks,

    Core

Thanks mate - that's pretty exciting news. Meaning you've almost single handedly completed the Corp's Orca project. Impressive stuff.

There are a handful of people who have or are close to having the necessary capital construction skills. That would mean we would have the bandwidth to knock out quite a few big projects on a monthly basis. Interesting food for thought there.

Core, I was at Impro earlier this day to rename the containers but could not locate them. Please, let me know where you placed them.

    Cheers,

PS.: Impressive work all of you. Gz, Soth .. you are a capital building beast . I will try to get Nim into Capital Construction asap to be able to help.

Just to say we now have all the components constructed and I have now started production of the Orca. It will be ready in 5 days.

We have loads of BPCs and components left over along with some BPCs from the Providence we built last year.

The next task is to fit the Orca out and decide what to build next. The standard fit for the Orca would be the one that Core posted:

    [Orca, ORCA: ultimate hauler]
    Expanded Cargohold II
    Damage Control II

    Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
    Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
    Survey Scanner II
    Large Shield Extender II

Mining Foreman Link - Mining Laser Field Enhancement I
Mining Foreman Link - Laser Optimization I
    Small Tractor Beam I

    Large Cargohold Optimization I
    Large Cargohold Optimization I
    Large Cargohold Optimization I

However this is quite an old fitting and could be ready for some updating if anyone has any ideas.

Regarding the next build, I would suggest we either stick with producing Orcas for now or build another Freighter. A Charon might be fun to build.

Well done to everyone, especially those who have attended the mining ops. These things cannot be build without you.

Wow - I am genuinely excited to see that one roll out of the hanger.

Not just because it's going to provide a great asset to our mining ops but because we all made it with our combined efforts as a team.

I remember my first mining op with the Corp as a complete Eve noob (even more so than now), the presence of an Orca was both impressive and inspirational. I was inspired to put in the necessary training time and game time to be able to fly this big shiny expensive capital ship that I'd only read about.

I know a few people wanted to help out by building things but couldn't and I want those people not to be put off and to still feel enthused. We could certainly benefit from a second Orca and probably even a Freighter. I think we should look at other ways to help ensure people get a fair shout at being able to build. Maybe find a way to integrate a progress spreadsheet into the forum through Google docs or some similar service.

I can see this becoming more important if we start a proper shipyard.

Which also begs the question about what else can we make and how do we make sure everyone in the Corp can benefit from their combined mining and construction efforts. If anyone has any ideas, please start a new thread and lets get some discussion going.

Great effort by all - lets keep the mining ops running to build up the materials stockpile.

    Absolutely awesome, folks.

This is one of the fastest capital ship builds I have seen so far.
Thank you so much to all that contributed to mining and production.
Its a group effort and it is great to see that you all take on the challenge.

What a great start into the fall-winter season for our corp.

@Deadard: I agree let's just use our momentum and go on with building some more Orcas. Next one for wh mining ops and more if corp members wanna buy one with "Made by PCGE" logo on it .

@CoreBreach: It will be important to provide opportunities for all interested corp members to contribute to mining and production and to use these projects to learn the ropes from the veterans.
We should discuss how we can achieve this. This being said, I am eternally grateful to our bedrock indy veterans that step forward, spit on their keyboard, eh in hands, and get the job done. Without them, we cannot shoulder capital ship building.
When searching for Orca BPCs, I was reminded again that the corp owns all faction frigate, dessy and cruiser BPOs, lots of module BPOs etc, etc. So, we have stuff for R&D on every level from noob to tycoon builder and corp is happy tho support all activities.
Important is, if you are interested in it be vocal, talk to us, contribute to forum threads, ask stupid and intelligent questions .. everything . .just work with us in a team or just enjoy building your own frigate or electrical toothbrush asking an occasional question. Just get active .

    Cheers,

Our first of hopefully many Orcas rolled out of the factory this afternoon and now rests in the Corp Ship Hanger in Stacmon VII Impro Factory.

Thanks to everyone who helped in this through mining, construction and everything else.

Due to some generous donations of ore and minerals we are well on our way to having enough materials for a second Orca.

    Keep up the good work
