Thumbs up The Cat Lady - indie PC adventure game

Hi folks, I wanted to give you a quick heads up about a new indie adventure game called The Cat Lady. It's a gory horror adventure by Harvester Games, who created the successful indie point & click 'Downfall' back in 2009 that has been enjoyed by thousands across Europe.

The developer has opted for keyboard control this time round instead of mouse. The Cat Lady features a strong soundtrack, a gripping and surreal story, voice acting and more.

The game is on sale now! Get a special deal at http://www.TheCatLady.co.uk or get the game direct from Desura. Also available on DVD-rom shipped for free worldwide!

Please support our Steam Greenlight. Anyone who buys one of the three special deals (Teacup Special, Mitzi's Meal or Susan's Ego) via Screen 7 (or the official website) will be eligible for a free Steam key. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=114327732

A special release trailer will be out just before 31st Oct, two former trailers can be seen at the website. Thank you for reading and have a fun a Halloween this year!

PPS: Big thanks to Richard & PC Gamer for giving our point n' click bundle "Summerbatch" a shout on the news feed, much appreciated!

DAT ATMOSPHERE! Be sure to keep us up to date. I'm pretty sick of the current games, and a new awesome indie experience will do wonders on my morale.

Thanks chaps. Agreed, it looks like it should be on an iPad or such. The control system would compliment ports to other systems but alas it's not within our reach - and the developer has used AGS (Adventure Game Studio) which sadly does not port well to anything at this moment in time.

But I appreciate you taking a look, I'll be back with an update when it's nearing release.

In honesty when I first saw this game I wasn't that interested. The art style took me a little getting used to. But seriously, you only need to play a few minutes of the full game and you're gripped. So I went from someone not interested to the guy trying to help produce it - I certainly believe in it, it's a strong adventure game. Hope you'll enjoy it too!

    Thumbs up

Hello kitty! A quick one to say the dark but compelling indie adventure game The Cat Lady is finished and on release from Dec 1st, from the official website and Desura! It's a mature tale and not suitable for players under 18.

You can have a go for free on this and a variety of other indie adventure games at AdventureX in London during December.

“Altogether, this muddy patchwork of horrific imagery, terrifyingly real emotion and superb sound design comes together to create a horror story that should be enjoyed for years to come.”
    Link Dead Gaming

“Just finished perhaps the most unique adventure game I've ever played, The Cat Lady. Simply a remarkable experience.”
    Nick Wheeler, via Twitter

I've literally just finished playing through The Cat Lady, courtesy of a press copy kindly supplied by Screen 7.

I am not holding back when I say it was literally one of the most unique experiences I have ever had from an adventure game. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending it to anyone with even the slightest appreciation of adventure games.

Just a warning to everyone. To say this game involves mature themes would be an understatement. Themes of depression, suicide and violence fill it from start to finish, not letting up for a second. It would probably make more sense to put a small warning on the box that says 'warning: this game contains a brief scene involving a microwave burger that does not involve mature themes, but that's about it.'

"4.5 out of 5. The Cat Lady uses the framework of a horror story to set up a truly mature and moving portrait of a woman attempting to claw her way out of pain and sadness." - Adventure Gamers

"A horror title which won't let you sleep, leaves questions open for your own interpretation and is simply one of, if not THE best storytelling games of the year or in years to come. 10/10" - Future Sack.com

    Happy new year!
