I'd go with 2 690s, they are just.. Beast (Coming from the noob with almost ZERO knowledge, but I'm building my own with 1 670). Does BF3 really need all that?

Default Go with the two 690's

Defiantly go with the two 690's cards. As you mention BF3 having just one of either of these cards is plenty to play it on. Also having only two cards will help keep heat levels down.

My gawd man, what resolution are you playing at? A single GTX690 will rip BF3 to shreds at 2560x1600. Unless you're running triple 2560x1600 monitors, a single GTX690 is perfect.....actually even if you are running 3 screens, a single 690 will still be plenty.

It won't make that big of a difference but with z77, you are going to be bandwidth limited with either choice. 690s are throttled 680s but will probably still beat 670s. However, with bandwidth limiting, that may be further diminished.

2 GTX 670's on water blocks.

Would rather two GPU on two separate PCB's than 2 GPU's stuck to a single PCB.
