    Default raid report 31st july

    on raid:
    ulthane, goffik
    wywmy, barker, dudu
    oskrilyth, isilindal, jecaa
    Bimble, Belara (for Rhyolith)
    Hubi, Leegund (for Baleroc)

    Went straight to rhyolith.
Picked up where we left off last week - had good steering and add management.
We were still poor at avoiding lava lines, and overall raid coordination.
Had an hour of wipes when we had him between 40 and 80% and we didnt seem to be making much progress.
We tried one attempt with me driving not just the boss, but the raid - calling raid movement, and lava line timing. When we did this we 1-shot it - went straight into phase 2, had a well timed tranquility and hymn to top everyone off, and we burned him down reasonably easy.

My dps numbers were awful, as almost all my attention was on either steering the boss, or managing the raid, but as long as the group got it down I dont really care

Had a quikc break then went to Baleroc.
Took us a while to get the basics, but our last attmpet got him to 30%.
Think we were close to the enrage timer (6 minutes) but I'm not too worried about that just yet.
I'm now convinced the crystals tick for 25 seconds, so we should be able to split the debuffs into 12/13 for our dps.

Since last night I've done a bit more reading, and there are many options to the fight - 1-tanking it for example, or stacking the 1st crystal stacks to a huge amount to help the healers out early on, but we can tweak things to suit us next time we're there.
Feedback on Baleroc (and rhyolith) welcome from everyone

Tuesday it'll be tier-11 stuff, and next thursday/sunday we'll go for whichever boss I think we have the best chance at.

    Loots:
    Belara x1
    Jecaa x1 (shiny sword, pewpew!)

Sorry i didn't catch our "1-shot" of Lord Lefty but I was having issues again. Lord Lefty went much smooth with Akee telling us where to go, it helped me with the spark as I started moving away from the raid.

Tanking Baelroc was incredibly easy, I spent most of the time Tank DPSing, and considering i get a massive increase in avoidance from the first hit of decimation blade, he always missed the second time round. And you can now see the Goffik getting even bigger than usual.

    Hey guys,

    Weird night for me.
I was getting totally despondant with Stompy, too much stuff going on to try and heal efficiently and well, that was until Akee told us where to go, you would not believe how much easier this was. Instead of waisting a few seconds trying to find a safe spot or a person designated to be in a safe spot, it was "everyone move to blue square now", it just seemed flawless tbh.

The last phase was also quite strange, I didnt even notice the kill as I was spamming heals and sorting my mana regens out ready for a long phase.

I actually thought we were going to get Baleroc, that was until Akee died and went to make a brew instead of telling us who was on what (We should of known but thats what we pay him for).

Update the Guild Progression thread mate if its not been done already (Guild First WOOP).

    Cheers Guys.

one of the best things about Rhyolith is the dps doesn't need to me high apart from the 2 ppl on Adds. so its not a worry until the last part ^^ nice to see team win back on form as well.

It's so bloody nice to see that after all the drama that happened in the first part of the year that the guild is still going stronger and better then ever. with loads of new people joining the raids and added to the social side of the guild too, Its a guild I'm once again that i love

Much love to Win. and everyone else who has joined the ranks.

I was pretty shocked at how quickly Ryolith went down once we hit phase 2. I suppose that's what happens when you let Osk and Isil stand still and hit things...

Positioning is deceptively important for the ranged. At first I thought it was enough to avoid lava and get range on the adds, only to find myself being out of range of the healers or being hemmed in, or being too close to the boss to see what was actually happening. Having someone call out directions is a huge help.

To be honest I was completely rubbish at positioning the group mainly because I did not understand where was safe.

I was amazed at how it all clicked in the end and it did seem quite easy.
