    Default Macros and such

    [SIZE="3"]Some basic caveates:[/SIZE]

THE ORDER YOU ADD YOUR SPELLS/ABILITIES TO A MACRO IS VERY IMPORTANT:
Any non-reactive spell/ability with ZERO cooldown will ALWAYS take priority over other spell/abilities with cooldowns if it comes first in your macro (explanations for the technically challenged have been commented in the examples below).

What does this mean? Well, you can make yourself a really nice macro with lots of fancy combos in it, combos that will actually work, but if the order is wrong you may never get past spamming one attack all the time (if you even attack at all).

    MODIFIERS ARE POWERFUL BUT TRICKY:
    [shift] / [alt] / [ctrl]
These are the main RIFT modifier keys. Holding 1 of them down will, if you have used it correctlly in your macro, allow you to control the way your macro casts spells.

All commands that I am aware of take modifiers. However the syntax may not always be intuitive. If the macro doesn't behave how you expect try moving the modifier around the command/spell (once again examples are commented in the macros below).

    Default 1 Macro Equip/Soul changer

The game currently gives you 5 equipment slots to save differnt gear gear combinations

#show [name of the spell icon you want]
loadequip [ctrl] 1 _when holding CTRL this will not change your current soul, just load the gear setup previously saved in slot 1
saveequip [alt] 1 _when holding ALT this will save the gear setup you are currently wearing into slot 1
loadequip 1 _____This next section performs 2 actions with 1 click/press. Load gear set 1 and swap to soul 1
    soul 1

    Default 1 macro Assist

This macro allows you to save the person you wish to assist as a focus, then happily click away in the knowledge that no one can accuse you of not attacking the same target

#show [name of the spell icon you want]
focus [ctrl] ________ when holding CTRL set the currently selected target to your focus
clearfocus [alt] _____ when holding ALT clear the current focus
target @focustarget _ target the character/npc that your focus has chosen

Be careful when using assit macros incase you only have buttons out that stop you being able to attack mobs selectively. Lazy players may already have seen that if they take out the last line of this macro and add it as the 1st line of their attack macros they will always automatically attack the same target as their focus. This is a bad idea. But you need to discover that for yourselves.

    Hi Russell
1st let me apologise for the slow response (you may already have found the answers you were looking for) as i'm not a big forum user.

Macro commands etc:[LIST=1][*]/help will get you an ingame (but not exhaustive apparently) list of macro commands[*][url]http://www.tentonhammer.com/rift/guides/commands[/url] has quite a good list of commands with explanations[/LIST]
Hope that helps you out a bit

    Peter
