    Default Holy Paladins

    Hey hey guys!

Well since I got muted for stating the bleeding obvious, im going to start a forum post about it.

    Holy Paladins

Maybe one of the most powerful arena healers in the game at the minute, with a supposed 'infinite' mana pool. This is incorrect, as in arena I have problems, as there are ways of killing us.

From experience, the best way is to CC us. We have two ways of escaping this, bubble and trinket, trinket being 2 minutes and bubble being every 5 minutes.

The next best way to stop us healing is to Mana burn us, both priests and warlocks spring to mind, as they harass me the most, add the fears and they are INCREDIBLY annoying.

And the probably most annoying of the three, but the easiest, is to interrupt us, when we are casting big heals and we dont have aura mastery popped with Concentration Aura, you can interrupt us, giving you the time to kill our partner and then the paladin will most probably give up. (Or you will kill him before he can). Mages are probably the best at this, as they have counterspell, closely followed by Death Knights.

Feel free to add you views

Oh, just as a off note, arms warriors are rather annoying, very high damage output, healing reductions, stuns AND a bubble dispell. They are very good at killing most classes.

As your arena partner, i share these views, for these problems affect me, as i die when i dont get healed for 30 seconds with evil peoples coming to kill me. (Althought sparos is awesome because hes kept me and my other partner up for plenty games, thus our wins.)

P.S Sparos for president, best muted palladin all of EU (And Steemwheedle Cartel included).

You were muted for arguing with the officer that requested you stop arguing in guild chat. Everyone else stopped almost instantly. You continued, and persisted to argue in my chat pane. I asked you not to take it to the forum as it might make matters worse. So, you and Lev create a thread specifically designed to troll me, and others. Nice.

Hmmm, myself and my posts often sit here in the PvP forum area watching the tumbleweeds roll past and the first time you contiribute something it is so you can make a swipe at an officer after being muted.

Clearly you have a lot of great information to contribute here and I am sure we would all like to hear more from you (I for one liked the information part of your post) but please don't just make a post so you can take a potshot at someone.

On the issue of rated BGs, so far we have not had the numbers when events have been organised and we need to get less experienced people built up with both experience and gear. I am going to try and do that as much as I can with open PvP sessions (next one 13:00 this Sat) but any you could also organise and lead at alternate times would be greatly appeciated as well. The key is to make them as relaxed as possible so novices don't get put off.

Well really, me, and most people i know had it as baptisim by fire, and just stuck with, if your saying we can only do rated BGs once theres been enough PvP events to gear and get people experiance, we are looking at this the complete wrong way.

I would like to get into PvP; I've only ever really tried BGs on my Priest (and never in full PvP gear), and what normally happens is I heal quite a lot, and then the Alliance rogues spot me healing a lot, so they kill me lots. I tend to spend the whole session getting frustrated that I can't achieve anything, and I don't really know what's going on most of the time.

That said, my Paladin Alt is now approaching 85, and as I have no intention of raiding with him (he's my herb and ore farmer), it might be fun to try PvPing instead. I quite like the idea of smashing my mace over the heads of some Worgen emokids.

I'm coming from over 3 years of progression raiding, where you never take anyone who doesn't know what's coming, and exactly what's expected of them. It's an approach that leads to few surprises, I must admit. I'll do some reading around, of course, but an organised introduction to proper PvP so that I can get some confidence would be most welcome. As the best PvP Retadin around, I shall look to Cambrinus to teach me how to swing the light.

Yeah, I enjoy PvP quite a bit too, and it's a lot more fun with a guild group, but it is very intimidating starting out. I wanted to do more in Wrath, but, unlike with raid gearing, especially towards the end of the expansion cycle, it felt like you'd always be at a disadvantage and there was little point - every time I tried PvP, I'd fail laughably. I'm only really doing it more now because I'm in on the ground floor, so to speak.

People do progress from soloing and questing to raiding quite easily - while it's different, and difficult, it seems more like a logical progression. PvP is a different game altogether, and you're not likely to make to transition easily unless you've already done similar competitive online games. The atmosphere is frequently hostile and contemptuous, and unlike a raid, you can't leave and join another guild if you don't like the people you're playing with. If you want to get into pvp, you're pretty much stuck with bastards screaming at you from the moment you step into a bg or Tol Barad. And those are the people on your OWN side. Expecting people who aren't used to that sort of environment to simply grin and bear it in, on top of getting creamed by opponents while they gear up, isn't realistic and won't lead to a high retention rate. That's why the addition of wargames is so great, and why Cambrinus is exactly right in what he says. People who are willing to go through a baptism of fire and come out the other end enthusiastic pvpers are very much in the minority.

While Camb has put events up before, I generally haven't been able to attend cos I do my shopping on Saturday mornings/afternoons. But the wargame nights are great fun, I'm eager to get involved, and get other new people involved, and at the beginning of an expansion is the best time to do it.
