Darksen, Xarvoz, you noticed a pretty significant dps drop since the shattering? I certainly have, struggling to get over 7k overall on Halion last night, was almost doing that on dummies the week before.
I thought it was just me being rubbish, then I was browsing EJ and found this:
Anyone Notice a massive DPS loss from 4.0.3 to 4.0.3a ? Last week ich was around 19k at saurfang this week only 15k. Didn´t check the logs already if we missed some special buffs in our raid setup. Maybe someone notice dps loss too ?
Patch note was something with seal nerf but nothing what should show such a big diffrence.
I also noticed a quite serve DPS drop since the patch, but I don't have logs.
I lost roughly 2500dps.
I didn't realize TV would get nerfed, I'm just wondering how much it got nerfed.
So it seems I wasn't alone afterall. Redcape on EJ (creator of the ret dps spreadsheets) and Exemplar posted this:
- TV was nerfed from 290% to 235% weapon damage
- CS was nerfed from 130% to 115% weapon damage
- HoW base damage was nerfed
- Exo was buffed quite a bit at the expense of our seal of truth and judgement damage
So yes, ret paladins (and i.e. fury warriors) are back at the very first state when patch 4.0.1 went live. Which means in a underpowered state compared to most of the other classes but maybe in the right place considering L85 scaling and balancing.
Interesting, hopefully it will even out at 85. More concerning is our AoE at the moment if I'm honest. 80% weapon damage on DS makes it not worth using even with 4 targets - a normal single target rotation will still be more effective.
Redcape has also posted a new single target priority rotation: Exo > HoW > 3 TV > CS > ...
This seems clunky, especially, as pointed out on EJ, when you get two or three AoW procs in a row - two or three AoW procs followed by a couple of divine purpose procs and a hand of light proc in there too and you are looking at something which is extremely random and not fluid at all.
Methinksret still needs abit of work. Luckily though, the Zealotry change is really nice, and makes it feel abit more like a button worth pressing now, this macro looks good:
/cast Templar's Verdict
Should make the initial 3TV when you use Zealotry a little more natural and responsive.
Look at the top damage mage in that log, 90% of his dmg done with Ablast, 26k dps - herp derp
