Call to Arms: League of Legend's Tristana! [come play with us!]
You've been drafted, loyal PC Gamer reader! We're calling all able-interneted PC gamers to join us in playing Tristana in League of Legends this week, in order to rocket-jump our way to victory and develop a community guide for how to play as this fast-shooting gal.
She's free to play this week, so there's really no reason why you shouldn't play with us! We'll be hosting game nights all week long, and you can read full details here.
Basic Tristana rune setup:
Armor Penetration marks
Health per level seals
Magic Resist glyphs
Flat Health quints
Tristana masteries: Standard AD dps 21-0-9
Favourite items: Madred's Bloodrazor - Synergises extremely well with her Q ability (Rapid Fire) to melt heavy health champions like Cho'Gath, as well as a nice bit of attack damage and speed, and some armour for survivability
Last Whisper - A whopping 40% armour penetration to rip through those tanks and tanky dps like Warwick and a hefty chunk of attack damage too
Bloodthirster - For squishier teams, this item is really a blessing. The lifesteal enables Tristana to stay in a fight longer, and come out the victor against less-carried AD champs always. There is also a large amount of attack damage on this item once fully stacked so it's a nice boost to your damage too.
Tristana is a great AD carry, able to last-hit with ease due to her increased range from her passive and the explosions from the E (Explosive Shot) passive help her to quickly push lanes, with Q (Rapid Fire) letting her tear towers down in a fraction of the time other AD carries do. Her W (Rocket Jump) recharges with a champion kill, so jumping in, ganking, and then jumping back out is perfectly viable. Just be sure to get that gank, because Tristana is as squishy as they come, with only a few champions squishier.
Red (Lizard) buff is vital for Tristana, since she does not have a ranged slow, and keeping the enemy champion slowed with that buff and the extra damage it provides is a massive boost. Alternatively, if there are other champions on your team who need red buff more (Corki and a few other AD carries) you can build through to a Frozen Mallet, giving you a nice wad of health, a smidge of attack damage and a slow on her auto-attacks.
More to come! =)
EDIT: Overuse of the word chunk...
Awesome, thanks for the guide tips, Illuria :) Hopefully it'll help people get to a good start with her!
