As reported by CVG, Capcom have confirmed the PC version of Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will arrive in early July.

PC gamers missed out on Super Street Fighter IV’s updated features when it was released on consoles last year, but Capcom appear to be putting more emphasis on our favourite platform this time around. According to their official blog, “Nobody wants to get the PC version out as soon as possible more than us. We still have some logistical hoops to jump through before we can set a hard and firm date, but the goal is to definitely be in the earlier part of July.” This is excellent news.

Capcom recently confirmed Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition details and mentioned that they’re planning on taking PC gaming more seriously. We welcome more evidence of this.

Rule one of living on Mars: Never let the evil tattooed space sorcerer underground, he’s only going to cause trouble. This time he’s trying to take control of Mars’ race of secret underground insects (you know the ones). Luckily there are a number of cures to the old mad space sorcerer problem, in the form of big guns, or even bigger mech suits.

Also, there’s mention of an airstrike, which raises hope that not all of the game will be set in dingy caves. We’ll find out in a few weeks time when the game’s released on June 7 in the US, and June 10 everywhere else. You’ll find more footage in the recent co-op multiplayer trailer, and on the Red Faction Armageddon site.

The latest batch of Dead Island screenshots may well be the most violent yet. We’ve seen ‘orrible zombies and blood soaked swimming pools, but the image of an undead head disintegrating into a cloud after being shot in the head sets a new bar. Still, you know how it is, playing zombie games means seeing lots of zombie brains. Mmm, brains. New images below.

The X-Fi HD is something of an oddity. It’s a USB-powered external soundcard designed for laptops—and when it comes to delivering awesome audio, it exceeds expectations. However, the features of the card leave you wondering who Creative had in mind when designing it.

Blendimals lets you blend animals then explode them

Most animals can do at least one thing well. Cows are good at eating grass and mooing. Rhinos can move people out of the way by jabbing them with their horn. Rabbits jump around instead of running.

Blendimals lets you create the ultimate animal by blending them in a virtual blender (it’s nowhere near as bloody as it sounds). Then you can use your creations to progress through obstacle-ridden levels that would cause a standard God-created animal all kinds of issues.

You can download Blendimals for free from the official site. Don’t forget to share your tastiest blends in the comments.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release date revealed, Infinity Ward respond to leak

Infinity Ward creative strategist Robert Bowling has responded to last week’s Modern Warfare 3 mega leak on Twitter, saying that not all of the leaked information is correct.

“A lot of hype & a lot of leaked info on #MW3, some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I’d wait for the real reveal,” he said.

One part of the leak that’s looking more and more certain is the release date. A Modern Warfare 3 poster, and retail sources have all but confirmed Tuesday November 8 as the big day. The poster features artwork identical to the Modern Warfare 3 box art leaked a couple of weeks ago, suggesting that that, too, is legitimate. You’ll find the poster image below.

2D Minecraft-alike Terraria is out today

Terraria’s destructible, two-dimensional worlds may remind you a little of Minecraft. In fact, anyone following Minecraft creator Notch on Twitter will be familiar with the trailer above, which shows the game’s frenetic multiplayer mode in action.

Terraria challenges you to survive in a randomly generated, destructible world full of monsters and treasure. Like Minecraft, players craft new items and build structures to help them survive, and the best materials for tools can be found deep in the mines beneath the surface. Each randomly generated world can be explored with as many friends as the server you’re on can handle. Where it differs from Minecraft is in the depth of items and monsters, from ravenous eyes of Cthulhu to jetpacks and laser rifles.

The developers have plenty of post-release support planned for the game, with extra player vs. player modes and pets currently in the works. Terraria is coming out on Steam later today for $9.99. For more on the game, check out the Terraria site.

Some prototype box arthas been spotted by Kotaku in a marketing survey, showing three possible covers for Hitman: Absolution. Amusingly, the game’s listed in the mock-ups as Hitman: Subtitle. It’s likely they were created before the Absolution subtitle was decided. You’ll find the three pics below. Which would you choose?
