Call of Duty: Black Ops mod tools in the works, could arrive in May
A Treyarch developer recently tweeted with news that mod tools are on the way for Call of Duty: Black Ops. Fans will be hoping for a mapmaker, and the ability to create new skins and game modes, but there’s no word yet on the level of customisation that the new tools will allow. CVG point out that Treyarch have previously said “there are some purely technical issues related to engine and internal tool enhancements that do not easily fit the modtools paradigm.” We’ll get to test Treyarch’s ‘modtools paradigm’ soon enough. Treyarch are shooting for a May release.

Watch the video of the new features and feel excitement instead: achievements, stats, powered rails, rain, snow, and lightning’s ability to turn pigs into zombie pigmen. What more do you want from Minecraft? A quick office poll suggests that we want more dangerous rain to be included.

And in other PC gaming news…
“Hadouken!” is today’s PC gaming cry of victory. We’ve had to wait a while, but Super Street Fighter IV is coming to PC, complete with extra characters and balance tweaks. It’ll be a fairer and prettier experience on our gaming machines. Time to blow the dust of your arcade sticks.
But can it look as good as The Witcher 2? Today’s screens confirm that the RPG sequel is looking quite spectacular. It remains to be seen if other upcoming games like Brink will be able to compete. Today we got to see the kind of rig we’ll need for Splash Damage’s new shooter to look its best.
Now for more pressing matters, like today’s list of everything that’s been going on in the world of PC gaming, including an inspired way of beating piracy,
Portal 2 levels appear in potato sack games, clues suggest Portal 2 could be released early
When we took an overview of the remarkable happenings in the potato sack ARG yesterday, the trail was going cold, and it looked as though things were winding down. For a few hours at least, they were, then it all kicked off again. New updates have added Portal 2 themed levels to many of the games in the potato sack sale. The voice of Glados has started appearing in menu screens and secret messages, and to top it all, Bit.Trip Beat creators, Gaijin, dropped a heavy hint that completing the ARG could cause Portal 2 to be released early.
Adding fuel to that theory, today Portal 2 became available to pre-load through Steam. We’ve collected videos and screenshots of the new Portal 2 themed levels from potato sack sale below.
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition coming to PC
PC wins: Perfect. As reported by CVG, Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is coming to PC. This is ultra good news. Street Fighter IV is on Steam, but we never got to play Super Street Fighter IV (which featured extra characters and moves) even though it hit consoles last year.
Not to worry though – the Arcade Edition contains all the content PC gamers have missed out on, and will be the most focussed Street Fighter IV yet thanks to balance tweaks, new characters, and improved community features. It’s going to be super, hyper, mega-good basically. Mad Catz 360 arcade sticks will also work fine on PC, so you have no excuse to mash your keyboard like large-hoofed cow.

You can read our review of Fifa 11 here. The first Fifa 12 screen has been released, featuring Brazilian maestro Kaka. Get it below.
Fallout: New Vegas patch incoming, DLC announcement imminent
Fallout: New Vegas will be getting a big bug fixing patch ahead of the announcement of its next DLC episode. A post on Bethesda’s forums says that the patch will add “optimizations and stability improvements,” as well as fixes for the crashes and lockups that many players have been experiencing. The update will also be a few community requested weapon tweaks and balance changes.
We can expect the patch to arrive in the next couple of weeks, but the announcement of the next chunk of DLC is coming “very soon.” There aren’t any official details yet on what the DLC will contain, but a recently leaked trailer revealed that it’s likely to be called Honest Hearts. The trailer was quickly pulled, but a fan at Duck and Cover managed to grab a quick screenshot. You’ll find it below.
The Witcher 2 screens have kings, castles and swamp monsters
Going on the footage we’ve seen so far, The Witcher 2 is going to be a fine looking game. Don’t believe me? Check out the latest batch of screenshots, featuring frog men, swamp monsters and good old fashioned castle.
Dragon Age 2 patch fixes Exiled Prince DLC and cures confused companions
Dragon Age 2 has been patched with fixes for the Exiled Prince DLC and a number of quests in the game. The update also includes a few other technical improvements for those running the game with DirectX 11, and your companions will be generally less confused. Varric will be able to tell who you’ve been romancing, and Merril will stop referring to future plot events in conversation. Read on for the full patch notes.
Brink system specs revealed. Will use Steamworks
Brink is approaching fast. In fact, its official release is just four weeks away.
To celebrate, Splash Damage have revealed the system specs, and confirmed that the game will be using Steamworks (not the alternative we’re not going to mention because it upsets us too much).

New spoof TV ad lands on Deus Ex’s Sarif Industries website
Deus Ex: Human Revolution’s viral marketing is really speeding up. Before, if you visited the Sarif Industries site, all that you’d find is some fake investor information and details on augmentations. Today, however, my daily visit to the site was rewarded with a TV spot that’s got a healthy mix of humor and creepiness. Is this really what the future will be like? Watch the video below to find out how you can “live the life you’ve always imagined.”
