razer dragon age 2 giveaway

UPDATE: A champion has been chosen! Congrats to the insanely-fortunate winner, Adam Summers. If you see someone walking the streets decked out in chainmail and swinging a Dragon Age 2 DeathAdder mouse like a mace, you’ll know that Summers has hit the scene. Thanks to everyone that entered!

Heroism demands heroic gear. The Champion of Kirkwall doesn’t lunge into a line of mad-evil Darkspawn with his mom’s Dell ergonomic keyboard; Hawke can’t clean-cut Ogres on a laptop trackpad.

We’ve partnered with one of PC gaming’s best blacksmiths, Razer, to secure their full set of Dragon Age 2 peripherals and equipment–a branded DeathAdder mouse, BlackWidow keyboard, gaming mat, controller and messenger bag. Using these items simultaneously confers bonuses to nerdery that we can’t possibly quantify.

To have a crack at this cache of epic gear–a combined value of more than $385–all you need to do is “Like” PC Gamer on Facebook and, separately, comment on the respective contest post on Facebook here. We’ll select one random, yet unbelievably lucky winner on Friday.

UPDATE: We had a slight problem getting our codes so there will be a delay in getting those out. Good news is that we are now expecting 100 codes instead of just 21!

World of Tanks will be released tomorrow! When we heard this news, we immediately imagined ourselves dispensing indiscriminate tank justice. You shouldn’t be afraid to enter this free-to-play war either because zombie General Patton himself visited us today and gave us 21 starter packs that we will disperse to our fans. If you’d like to be one of the fortunate 21, and not end up as a flame broiled tank commander, read on for your chance to win.

Rift Warlock attack

An apocalyptic world event was triggered by patch 1.1 to Rift a couple of weeks ago. The event was set to enter phase two last weekend, but this has now been pushed back to April 16 thanks to some problems with the European servers. Massively noticed the delay announcement, which was made on the Rift forums. To compensate for the delay, participating in the event will now earn players more prizes that can be spent at world event vendors. The selection of rewards sold by these vendors will also be increased. More loot for everyone!

Several characters and institutions in Bioshock, like Sinclair Spirits and Robertson’s Tobaccoria, were named after the writers and developers who made the game. Irrational want to do something similar for Bioshock Infinite, except this time they want to use names from their community. Blue’s News spotted the compo on the Irrational blog, where Irrational say “we’re giving one of you the chance to become immortalized within the world of Columbia! You could end up as the namesake of a building, a character, a business–whatever our artists come up with. It’s the ultimate bragging rights.”

To enter, all you have to do is enter your name and email address into the form on the Irrational blog post linked to above. The winner will be notified by email, and their name will find their way into Irrational’s skyborne sequel. Check out our Bioshock Infinite preview, and the first trailer for more on the game.

The Sunday Video Pwn

Two new Duke Nukem trailers hit the web this week. One covers the history of one of PC gaming’s most recognisable characters, but it’s the above video that had me scratching my chin the most. Duke Nukem Forever is actually going to get released, which is great, but I cant help but feel that Gearbox are pushing just a little too hard. The above trailer is amusing, but I can’t shake the awkward feeling of misogyny that seems to ooze from it. Is pixelated pornography a step too far, or is it just harmless fun? Debate in the comments.

If you’ve ever played World of Warcraft, it’s likely that you thought some stretches were too grind-heavy. (Granted, the WoW grind is minuscule compared to traditional/Korean MMOs.) Now, take that boredom and impatience you felt during that grind, and multiply it times a billion. That’s what us lesser beings would feel when leveling an alt strictly through Herbalism and Mining—but Everbloom is so much more. Come delve into the mind of the Night Elf druid that’s a patience demigod.

Tactical Intervention has had a lengthy development schedule, but European players will soon be able to try out the promising-looking shooter this Summer, starting May 6.

The game is developed by Counter-Strike co-creator Minh Le, and features Terrorist v Counter-Terrorist team play but with a few added features, such as helicopter repelling and human-shield taking. The game had a US closed beta last year, but its conclusion did not lead to the game’s release. Interested players can sign up for the European closed beta at the game’s official website.
