Dungeons site launched, game set for release February 4th
If you’ve ever played Dungeon Keeper, then Dungeons will seem very, very familiar to you. You play as an evil Dungeon Master, carving out a dungeon fit for the most diabolical creatures in the realm. Once your cesspit is well populated you can wreak havoc on the local heroes. A new site for the game has been launched, packed full of screens and footage of the game in action. Pure Pwnage could be over for good
Cult web series Pure Pwnage may well be over for good says the show’s creator Jarett Cale.
On the official forum, the creator and star Jarett Cale explained that the show was on ‘indefinite hold’ and that “While this doesn’t mean it’s officially ‘dead’, that is unfortunately the most likely outcome.” Read on for more info.
League of Legends to get Co-op vs AI challenges
League of Legends will soon be implementing a new co-op mode where teams will be able to battle against AI opponents. More information below.
The Oddworld Oddboxx gets patched
The Oddworld Oddboxx was released just before Christmas, but was troubled by severe bugs and compatability problems. The port of Stranger’s Wrath was in particularly bad shape, but has just received a massive patch, hopefully fixing many of the problems the game had at launch. Munch’s Oddysee has also received some much needed attention. You’ll find the full list of fixes below.

Dead Space 2 available to pre-load on Steam, Dead Space on sale
Dead Space 2 is now available to pre-purchase on Steam. Once bought, the game can be pre-downloaded to give you instant access when it’s released tomorrow. To celebrate, the original Dead Space is currently on sale with 66% off. If you pre-order Dead Space 2 that discount rises to 75%. Not a bad deal for a sizeable chunk of interstellar horror.
Portal 2 to allow player-made levels across all platforms, will have two end credit sequences
Portal 2 will be encouraging the mod community to create new levels by giving them the ability to distribute their creations to every platform. Levels made using mod tool on the PC will be playable on the Mac, Plastation 3 and Xbox 360. Valve have also revealed that Portal 2 will have two different end credit sequences, each with their own “surprises”. Read on for details.
Homefront to have dedicated servers
Kaos Studios – the developer behind upcoming FPS Homefront – has confirmed that the game will feature dedicated servers. Read on for the details.
DC Universe Online patched, Sony promise more fixes soon
The latest DC Universe Online patch has arrived aimed at improving the voice chat features of the game. There are also changes to the difficulty of some of the missions, as well as a collection of bug fixes. Sony have been talking about their plans for the next few patches for the game, including their intention to give players the option to turn off the overenthusiastic profanity filter. Need For Speed: Shift 2 pre-order bonuses revealed
EA have released a glossy trailer highlighting the bonuses that players will receive for pre-ordering the limited edition of Need for Speed: Shift 2. Read on for more details.
Direct2Drive offer digital rental service at $1 per hour
Direct2Drive have started offering limited digital game rental, charging $5 for five hours of gameplay.
If you like the game you’ve brought time for, a maximum of five dollars can be put towards the price of the full download. For the moment, just three games are available as part of the service: GRID, Divinity 2 and Silent Hill: Homecoming.

Beyond Black Mesa is out now
The fan made Half Life 2 short film, Beyond Black Mesa was released in full over the weekend. The team behind the film shot the entire project in their spare time, doing all of the stunts and special effects themselves. The result is a spectacular recreation of the Half Life universe that could have been made by pros. You’ll find the full twelve minute film embedded below.
