PC Gamer US Podcast 251 – Soul Eater
Having barely survived the laser death cat and his devious accordion the now slightly less fearful PC Gamer crew invites a fire breathing human man on the show. Brian Brushwood of Scam School and the NSFW podcast joins us to talk about growing up goblin, bringing a violent end to Santa’s elves, what is worth living for in 2011 and much more.
Confirmed: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will use an entirely new engine
Bethesda Softworks community manager Nick Breckon has confirmed that the next Elder Scrolls game, Skyrim, will use an all new engine. This is contrary to a recent rumour that Bethesda’s next game would still use the Gamebryo engine that powered The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trailer, release date

The Minecraft Experiment, day 12: The Shaft
When I first started playing Minecraft a few months ago, I played with a rule: if I die, I have to delete the entire world. Then, I decided to go to hell and back. This is the twelfth entry in the diary I kept of that experiment – the first is here.
Crap Shoot: Hopkins FBI
Richard Cobbett is a cop on the edge… of insanity! The biggest crime Hopkins FBI should stamp down on is its own miserable existence. Anyone got a spare noose?
Hopkins FBI doesn’t make me cross, it makes me sad. No, wait. Scratch that. Reverse it. I hate this game. I hate it. When I think of games that have made me genuinely angry, Hopkins FBI may not top the list, but its name is still circled, underlined twice, and with little daggers sketched around the letters. It’s so bad, I fire it up about once a year just to remind myself how much I hate it.
How much do I hate it? I hate it a lot. It’s one of the most cack-handed, misogynistic, mean-spirited adventure games I’ve ever played, not to mention one of the stupidest. It’s a game that doesn’t seem to have been designed so much as congealed. If it has one redeeming feature, it’s that… no. No, forget fair and balanced. The only reason I haven’t microwaved the disc is that I don’t want the karmic fart-cloud of its ghost hanging around my kitchen for the rest of time. I cook food in there.
Warning: This week’s Crap Shoot contains uncensored nudity and some pretty graphic violence. For real this time, not like when I joked about it with Leather Goddesses of Phobos. It probably won’t shock you, but it might ‘surprise’ your parents/boss/colleagues/gimp/hamster if they see it over your shoulder. Warning over. Read on like you were going to anyway.
Win a SteelSeries Shift keyboard (US only)
Tired of games that won’t let you remap the controls however you like? The sleek and sexy Shift Gaming Keyboard from SteelSeries will solve all your problems, including problems you didn’t know you had. Every single key is completely programmable, letting you fool your games into thinking you’re pushing M when you’re really pushing Q, and turn the Windows key from a game-minimizing nuisance into the button you push when you want to break someone’s face with your fist (in the game). It’s also backward-compatible with the Z-board’s removable keysets, so you can swap in (for example) a specialized World of Warcraft set when you’re ready to play.
We’ve got 10 of these suckers to hand out to lucky readers, so read on to find out how to enter!

Epic Deus Ex: Human Revolution trailer is epic
Eidos have released an extended trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, combining many of the clips we’ve seen into a five minute slice of techno-badassery. There’s also a new scene in the trailer that we haven’t seen before, which could give us a clue as to how Adam’s arms come to be augmented.
